Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-N.C.) called for Republicans in his district to “rally behind the Republican ticket” in November after he lost the GOP primary for his seat on Tuesday.
“Congratulations to @ChuckEdwards4NC on securing the nomination tonight,” Cawthorn tweeted late Tuesday.
“It’s time for the NC-11 GOP to rally behind the Republican ticket to defeat the Democrats’ nominee this November,” he added.

He shot his campaign in the foot, no pun intended, and now he’s figuring out that it’s time to play nice.

The world is filled with those who did not live up to their potential. Own worst enemy stuff. The voters did the right thing but remember a house seat in a red district is not as big as senate seat in swing states. Even MTG and Gaetz didn’t step over the line.
Cawthorn was the candidate who hated the rats and the GOP as much as a conservative should. Now we get the GOPer slime candidate. We will have lots of “reaching across the isle” from a district that should have produced a fire breather. Sadly I see a bunch of FR pearl clutchers calling this a win.
Yep....he was my Rep. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and voted for him, again. If someone can pull him aside, get him back on track, he is what can do our District alot of good, sans the drama.....
