Bank of England Governor Warns of ‘Apocalyptic’ Food Shortages From Fallout of Russia-Ukraine War

Russia’s war on Ukraine is leading to an “apocalyptic” food shortage, Governor of the Bank of England Andrew Bailey told a committee of Parliament on Monday. Bailey said the main issue is that major global grain supplier Ukraine’s crops cannot be exported due to the war. The head of the United Nations World Food Program warned “millions of people around the world will die” if Ukraine’s Black Sea ports continue to be blockaded by Russia. Last week, Italian League party leader Matteo Salvini warned the looming food shortages due to the war could cause as many as 20 million people from Africa to migrate to Europe.

What will they do with it, let it rot? No, they will sell to China and China won’t need to buy from us. The grain we would have sold to China will feed us and others.

This is on purpose. The goal is to kill off as many as possible. This is the human “solution” to things they think are problems.

Huh. The overwhelming majority of wheat exports are from white countries.

“It’s pretty clear food shortages are coming. They’ve been planned and will be implemented.”

Not for DC.

We’ve (until Trump) been sleeping with the Devil (the PRCs & Ruskies) and now they come to claim our souls (unless we/US throw the Ho’s/Dems out of office).

Personally I give it 50/50 that we make it to and past the November elections as I fear CWII come this summer or in September when the American Mengele says we have to shut US down again for the next round of election covid!

And then there is insane Vlad & the demented resident getting US into an all out war!

Russia will have the harvest. Due to the sanctions, they will have to readjust their markets.

The main destination of Wheat exports from Russia are: Egypt ($3.23B), Turkey ($1.66B), Nigeria ($556M), Bangladesh ($409M), and Pakistan ($394M). The fastest growing export markets for Wheat of Russia between 2019 and 2020 were Egypt ($672M), Pakistan ($394M), and Turkey ($272M).

Turkey is ignoring the Russian sanctions. Now we know why.

You are right. Many wheat exporters are banning the export of their wheat preferring to keep it locally. Many other commodities are being treated similarly. And the price of wheat is rising dramatically. This causes many of the poorer countries to reduce their purchases or not buy at all.

So why would Russia not have harvest? There is no war damage in Russia.

They undoubtedly have wheat. The question is whether importing countries can buy it and make payments to Russia?

The Russian wheat is probably subject to the same financial sanction regime as oil and gas.
