Gas prices reach new record high

Average gas prices in the U.S. reached a new record high Tuesday, according to AAA's gas price calculator.

The national average cost of a regular gallon of gasoline hit $4.523 early Tuesday morning. This topped Monday's record of $4.483, which in turn had beat Sunday's record of $4.470.

The price comes as the European Union edges toward oil sanctions on Russia amid the Kremlin's invasion of Ukraine. It also comes amid record-high inflation, with the consumer price index reaching 8.3% in April, hovering near March's 40-year high.

Of course, it is and will continue because it helps the Democratic agenda... Pushing electric cars. Doing away with gasoline engines.

Record-breaking administration. Be proud liberal progressives.

Diesel prices are astronomical. Diesel is used to deliver your food grocery store. Gas is what is used for you to drive to the grocery store. Yeah, it’s a double whammy.

Huh. I wish gas prices were at $4.83. It’s at least $5.83 in California and many stations show well over $6.00/gallon.

The lefty governor refuses to suspend the gas tax “temporarily” - he just beat a recall by a huge margin b/c he knows he is in no danger of defeat and idiots will continue to vote for this.

As soon as the Dims move a lot of people to electric cars the Dims will make electricity too expensive.

Filled up my 12-gallon VW Golf over a week ago. $51.60!

Luckily, I don’t have to drive to a job every day so that tank will last me a good, long while. BUT - it’s $51.60 that’s NOT going back into my local economy.

b/c he knows he is in no danger of defeat as long as the power structure gets to count the votes.

How many of those big black cars senior government officials ride in are electric? Not one. How many jets flown by hollywood big shots are not fossil fuel powered? Not one. They are nothing unusual. Human nature has always been for the self described elite to NEVER live by the same demands they make of average folks. American “leadership” is no different.

Funny. Just saw a story here in Cleveland where electricity rates are going to go up because the feds delayed some sort of auction they have with suppliers that ends up in a negotiated rate. I don’t know all the details, but they showed a couple electricity suppliers going up 30-50%.

Link to fox 8 Cleve:

Buried deep in the story:

Ohio’s energy companies also rely on prices set at the federal level, but changes experienced by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission have postponed federal auctions at which power plants determine their prices, Schilling said.

Because of the delay at the federal level, Schilling said the lack of a federal price point has caused a “cascading effect” on the ability of Ohio’s utility companies to conduct numerous auctions.

Amounts to much the same thing. The reported vote tally has little to do with how real, living, registered, qualified voters voted.

They are proud. Very.

I have one very liberal progressive friend. She is very proud of the green agenda, and has no idea why everyone doesn’t just run out and get an electric car.

She’s an idiot in so many ways, but there’s no talking sense into her even if you give her real facts or statistics.

Supply and demand will do that even without the Democrats interfering. But the Democrats will interfere anyway. They’ll have to, to replace lost revenue from the gasoline tax.

In my state, some D officials are talking about putting cameras on bridges. Cross a bridge, get a bill in the mail.

Agreed. I see that here in Alabama too. A lot of that is from high nat. gas prices (which the power company has to purchase, and pass on to customers as a rider in the bill). Obviously, Brandon is most responsible for the nat. gas rate spike. Obama is responsible for forcing power companies to shut down coal plants and replace them with nat. gas plants.

In my April power bill I paid 13.4 cents per kWh after including riders and tax. In April the prior year it was 10.3 cents. That's an increase of 29% and is one of the reasons I put solar onto my house, especially with the April 2 years ago charging me 10.2 cents.

I paid $3.83 yesterday in Atlanta only because Gov Kemp suspended the gasoline tax in his efforts to get reelected. Mr. GG2 paid $5.00 for diesel.
