Republicans across Pennsylvania are questioning former President Trump’s last-minute endorsement of State Sen. Doug Mastriano (R) in the gubernatorial race. Many have continued lining up behind former Rep. Lou Barletta (R-PA), who has previously unseated Democrats in local and congressional races

The Republican leaderships showed absolutely no loyalty to President Trump, in fact they went out of their way to hamstring him. Payback is a bitch.

Mastriano endorsed Barnette back in January.

“Keep lining up behind Barletta” yet Mastriota has been in the lead since March as was 10 points ahead in the most recent polls…

That doesn’t sound like Republicans are lining up behind Barletta.. it means the party establishment wants Barletta

I am beginning to suspect Trump’s picks. Rumor is he only endorses those who look like they are going to win the nomination anyway. I do not want to believe it but a close look indicates there may be true to that rumor. The Dr. Oz endorsement is a big problem. He reminds me too much of Romney and I would never trust him.

Again, this is only a rumor now but if it turns out to be true I would have to finally drop Trump for 2024 in favor of DeSantis.

The thing is that Lou Barletta has been a long time, loyal Trump supporter (one of the first to endorse Trump back in 2015 when he was a congressman). To me, it feels like a stab-in-the-back by Trump.

Since it’s so close to the primary, Trump should not have endorsed anyone because both Barletta and Mastriano are MAGA Trump supporters. The polls show Mastriano with 28% support and Barletta at 12%.

Lou Barletta is a good buy. The establishment did not support him when he ran for Congress after making national headlines as the mayor of Hazleton where he fought against illegal immigration and the economic and social impact it had on his small former coal mining town in PA. I do not know anything about the other guy, but Barletta has been a good conservative from what I hear.

I love Trump, but now is not the time for grudges to let winning republican seats in Congress and governorships fall by the waist side. And I mean that for all who will endorse candidates, and not meaning to single out Trump. The GOP has a great talent at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. We must neuter Biden in November.

Flashback to January 8, 2022:

5 takeaways from Doug Mastriano’s gubernatorial campaign launch

Not only did Mastriano receive endorsements at his campaign kickoff event, but he made one as well. After GOP U.S. Senate candidate Kathy Barnette lent her support to Mastriano, Mastriano returned the favor, formally endorsing Barnette for U.S. Senate.

“Before thousands of people watching live across this nation here, we're looking for the U.S. Senate candidate that has honor, integrity and honesty,” Mastriano said. “Somebody who’s been fighting as well for the past several years, not standing back or playing golf at the country club. That person is standing with us right now and so we fully endorse Kathy Barnette for U.S. Senate.”

Must be that some mole in Trump’s organization is feeding him false information.

I don't have a problem with Mastriano or Barletta, although neither is perfect. I don't think there is a perfect candidate, unless it was me. lol The same is true for everyone on FR, each of has slightly different values and hold certain things more important that others.

Three weeks from now, we will have forgotten the primary and it will be all about winning in November. By November, Trump will have more rallies in PA, and guess who will be there. It will be the winners of primaries, even ones Trump didn't initially endorse, if they win the primaries.

We will turn out in November because any Democrat is not an alternative. I'll even hold my nose and vote for Oz. Oz will be better than any Democrat.

What the hell is wrong with people. We have a candidate that bats better than 50 percent, much better than 50% and that is not good enough.

No it, was at Doug's January 8th Announcement Rally. I was there when he did it. See my Flashback post above.

The truth is that Doug and Kathy have been working together closely for the past two years against the Wolf regime, and she has been very loyal to him from the get go.

I would prefer Barletta, but Mastriano is a second choice.

Barnette is the only choice for US Senate in Pennsylvania.

Trump is showing some real negative signs lately. I wonder if the 2020 loss affected him more than we all realize.

I love him and will vote for him if he is the nominee, but I have to say....if DeSantis runs in the primary, I will support him over Trump.
