Barnette's quick rise has Republicans reeling over potential upset and what it could mean for November

Republicans are watching conservative candidate Kathy Barnette's sudden rise in their party's upcoming Pennsylvania US Senate primary with a mix of unease, wonder and dread.

Barnette's late surge in the closely watched contest has turned what was broadly seen as a two-person race between celebrity doctor Mehmet Oz and former hedge fund manager Dave McCormick into a chaotic three-person affair, with Barnette seen as a wild card who has grassroots momentum mere days before the Tuesday contest.

The unexpected development has caused even the most influential Republicans to panic, including former President Donald Trump himself, who attempted to quash Barnette's campaign by claiming in a statement Thursday that she is not a viable general election candidate.

This has been fascinating to watch.

That Trafalgar poll really threw them for a loop!

What really has them all worried and panicked is that the Republican electorate is not moving BACK to their safe, reliable, milquetoast-candidate way of thinking, but instead is moving TOWARD MAGA and America First thinking.

Whatever happens on Tuesday, I want McCormick to come in THIRD (like Dolan in OH). Going forward I want pantywaist candidates to be able to get NO traction with the Republican electorate.

The GOPe doesn’t yet realize what’s happened to them. The grassroots is on to their little game and has largely decided that we aren’t going to play along anymore.

The Precinct Project got started a bit too late to have much influence this time around. But in 2024 that will, God willing, have a very large influence on state and local races.

Then there’s the movement to take over local school boards. That has the Left truly terrified.

What I found interesting is her alignment with Doug Mastriano, who the Establishment is also suddenly trying to stop. And I know the reason why: in a Republican wave year, people can be swept into office that might otherwise not win. So they are desperate to PREVENT those people from getting the nominations - not because they CAN’T win, but because they CAN. And that prospect is dangerous to them.

From the article:
“Her surge is tied to her relationship to state Sen. Doug Mastriano. His supporters are supporting her. ... Mastriano supporters will follow him off a cliff,” said a Republican operative in Pennsylvania. “[I] have a feeling most will stay with her even through the attacks.”
Mastriano’s rise has set off panic in Republican circles. State Sen. Jake Corman withdrew from the gubernatorial race on Thursday and endorsed former US Rep. Lou Barletta. Mastriano is one of the commonwealth’s most outspoken proponents of the falsehood that the 2020 election was stolen from Trump.

I’m definitely going to do research on our schoolboard elections this year. It’s the only way to gut the commie agenda. Other then physically eliminate them. Which I don’t condone, oh no no no.

In a nutshell the powers that be aren’t familiar with her. Thus the question mark in their minds.

Trump going with OZ shows he still can’t personally vet people nor does he have competent advisors that can. That inability created many of his problems in the White House.

Those that have paid attention to her campaigning and meeting people throughout Pennsylvania are very familiar with her.

The most suspicious part of this woman’s resume is that she is so vague about being an adjunct professor - she doesn’t remember the name of the school or the state she taught in - REALLY?

She is very vague about her military service and not very vague about going on camera and encouraging her supporters to accuse those that won’t support her of racism.

She lost her only other election - a congressional - by 19 points. How does she win statewide?

Her candidacy would be a major gift to the oppo researchers working for the Democrat. They could make her a laughing stock.

This is not a hard choice. NO to this fake!

“I’m definitely going to do research on our schoolboard elections this year.”

In my experience those are the nastiest elections on the ballot. The Left will do anything to keep normal people off school boards.

Mastriano is one of the commonwealth’s most outspoken proponents of the falsehood that the 2020 election was stolen from Trump.

Not anymore. He pretty much shut his mouth about that once his critics began pointing out that the stolen 2020 election was only possible because of the stupid mail-in voting process that Mastriano himself voted into law in 2019.

The GOP establishment isn’t panicking because they’re afraid of Mastriano. They’re panicking because they know he’d get his ass kicked in November if he's nominated.

Trump’s support of Oz was a sound, calculated move.

The Pennsylvania GOP has been dominated by useless, corrupt hacks for years. Trump made a point of screwing them by endorsing a TV clown who has no ties to the state political machine and doesn’t even live in Pennsylvania.

__________

He’s not perfect.

But nobody’s perfect.

But his being imperfect seems always to end up being heavily magnified, causing natural supporters to balk.

You may be right. I’m just so sick and tired of being told “who can win” and “who can’t”.

I remember 2012, when Mitch McConnell moved both heaven and earth to get “winnable” candidates nominated (Eric Berg, Denny Rehberg, Tommy Thompson, George Allen, Connie Mack, Pete Hoekstra). They all went down in flames.

If the Republican Party gets behind the Republican nominees, they can win. But they only get behind “their” guys, and sandbag any others.

And I think the electorate is saying “F Off! We’re going to vote for who we want to represent us, and you’ll just have to deal with it.”

There is so much vote fraud in PA....hard to see anything changing given the the GOPs abject failure to address it.

The republicans did vote for mail voting, but what galls is their abject failure to stop the democrats from abusing it against the law as written.

Not supporting the Rs here, as any expansion of voting past one day is abhorrent to me and horribly open to expanded fraud.

Since basically nobody was punished for the vote fraud expect lots more in the next election. Plus violence.

Pennsylvania is a big state with heavily entrenched, historically “turned a blind eye to”, voter fraud.

If there is baked-in-the-cake voter fraud happening in favor of both major political parties in different parts of the state, Barnette’s candidacy may have been declared, sub silentio, by both parties, an existential threat that must be eliminated at all costs.

Has CNN EVER backed a Republican?
Do you think they are worried about a Republican loosing a Senate Seat?
Did they complain when AOC, the Bar Tender ran for the House?
No, No, No!

Now would I personally want someone with more experience...yes.
But it feels like the Uniparty doesn’t want Peanut Butter in their Chocolate.

If I LIVED IN PENNSYLVANIA, I would vote for Kathy Bartlett. A black woman endorsed by the AMISH. GOD DOES NOT LOOK ON OUTWARD APPEARANCE. IT IS TIME FOR PENNSYLVANIA to look and see WHO in the Race has God’s Favor, and who has God’s Anointing. A home school mom, hands down over a Turkish Senate candidate who esteems Sunni Islam religion.
