Two GOP-led states filed a lawsuit against President Biden, White House press secretary Jen Psaki, Dr. Anthony Fauci and other top administration officials alleging that they "pressured and colluded" with Big Tech social media companies to censor and suppress information on the Hunter Biden laptop story, COVID-19 origins and security of voting by mail during the pandemic.

Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt and Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry filed the lawsuit Thursday in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana. The suit accuses top ranking government officials of working with the giant social media companies Meta, Twitter and YouTube "under the guise of combating misinformation" in order to achieve greater censorship.

The posted link includes a link and view of the lawsuit, filed in US District Court for Western District of Louisiana, Monroe Division.

The case number is 3:22-cv-01213. Some 70 pages of factual allegations, alone worth the price of admission. I do wonder how many states were invited to join and declined. Attorneys General for Lousiana and Missouri are the only two plaintiffs.

The remedy sought is essentially a cease and desist, no money damages.

I love it.

We are finally fighting back the way the Left fights.

Kudos to those who are suing everybody and everything in sight.

I imagine the Democrats will rush to a microphone to exclaim: “This is ridiculous! Colluding isn’t even a crime!!!!!”

Let me guess.

The judges assigned to the case will come back with, ‘no standing’. And democrats all over the universe will be emboldened and will rejoice and take that as a license to continue lying to the American people.

That is one of many ways to kill the case without deciding it.

As you say, the court can give a green light to this government-encouraged shushing in the public square.

And when the power shifts, and the new player shushes the liberals, the court can flip flop.

It's still mighty entertaining to watch.

Big tech worked closely with the dems, including obammy, to control thoughts and speech. The government has no right to do this, but it did it by proxy, making the government in violation of the Constitution.

Is censorship to be equated with “making a law abridging?”

Roughly, yes. Although I figure the common use of the word "censor" includes activities of private actors, such as here at FR and at most every forum that allows public posting.

I think correct technical use of the word "censor" has the power exercised by a government agency.

Still does. Same with the press. Some amount of dissent is allowed so as to support the assertion that speech is not inhibited, just inhibited in the "legitimate" venues. For public protection, of course.
