UNITED NATIONS (Sputnik) - Russian envoy to the United Nations Vassily Nebenzia said during a UN Security Council meeting on Ukraine that a world war is currently taking place at an economic level in light of the measures taken against Russia in response to its special military operation in Ukraine.
Judging by the speed with which the economic war against Russia was unleashed, the West has been preparing for it for a long time, Nebenzia said on Thursday.
“This is not a war in Ukraine, contrary to what you say, this is a proxy war of the collective West against the Russian Federation. It is as if you were eagerly awaiting this moment to unleash repression against Russia. And if we were to talk about world war then, without a doubt, it is being waged at the economic level today,” Nebenzia said.
The Russian envoy noted there are people and countries that have long dreamed of transforming Ukraine into a bridgehead for a battle with Russia and they have done everything possible to achieve this goal ever since Ukraine became independent 30 years ago.
Nebenzia emphasized that Russia never had and does not have now any illusions about the plans by the West to make Ukraine a member of NATO as they set aside without consideration Russia's proposals and suggestions regarding Europe's security architecture.

Russia can always end this war, pull their forces out of all of occupied Ukraine including Crimea and then they can expect a steady reversal of sanctions.
Until then, suck rocks.
Better than a real one but an economic one is just fine.
As stated......., “this is a proxy war of the collective West against the Russian Federation”......
That’s quite obvious and onserved before Russia entered Ukraine militarily.
He acknowledges that Ukraine has been independent for 30 years, but Russia invaded them anyway saying that Ukraine had no right to exist as an independent country.
Don't start nothing, won't be nothing.
There’s always a world war occurring at an economic level.
The United States lost tens of millions of jobs over the last 50 years to the economic world war.
Poor Rossiya. Everyone is picking on them just because they invaded Ukraine and killed civilians.
Looks a lot like Eisenhower
Poor mushmellow. Born with a brain hard-wired to Chuck Todd’s exit orifice.
I think Schwab looks like Kruschev.
Russia should have just bombed the crap out of them, armed separatists, and fomented a civil war. You know, like we did in Libya.
As for your last sentence, emulating ghetto trash sayings looks…trashy.
It’s also a double negative…
Don’t invade countries, Ivan.
So true. 😉
Russia didn’t invade until after Obama/Soros, Inc. showed up in 2011 and completely took over. In the years when Ukraine was free, 1992-2011, Ukraine and Russia lived in peace. This whole cluster f is the doings of the illegitimate thugs running things in the White House today.
Until then, suck rocks.
———You are very uninformed. The West is getting hammered. Russian reverse sanctions on the West are shutting down and disrupting everything the west needs but Russia has. NG, diesel, gas, oil, food, grains, metals, commodities…
The EU is running 12-18 percent inflation , depending on country, ( the US about 8.5 percent), guess what, Russias inflation is at less than 3 percent.
The USD is being dumped by South America, China, India, South Africa, many US unfriendly nations and even Japan announced yesterday selling off of 300 billion in USD’s.
Russia has the largest supply in the world of commodities, major exporter of grains, oil, NG, diesel, they have need of nothing- self sufficient.
Weaponizing the USD has destroyed world trade, and created the Russian/ China/ India alliance….the west is being “ dethroned “, as is the USD.
…and Vlad says Checkmate, again.
Russia is suffering. That’s really all I care about.
As to the hardships you list in the US most of them were on track to happen anyway. Russia’s thievery in Ukraine merely hastened the outcome.
They always had the choice of foiling our evil plot by not invading Ukraine in the first place.
