This isn't 47 B.C., or even 1814. Armies don't pack themselves shoulder to shoulder in convenient masses to be wiped out by supporting arms. A so-called tactical nuke isn't going to take out "a Ukrainian Army.". Maybe a battalion or two, then the radiation will drift eastward over Russian troops and ordinary Russians, while also making part of the region they're trying to absorb uninhabitable.
Not exactly a smart play.

That photo, together with all the historical evidence, demonstrates that Russia had the opportunity to join the West in those years. But it seems Putin’s pride didn’t allow for Russia becoming just another country in Europe (like Great Britain, France, Germany, and others abandoned their imperialism and superpower projects at earlier historical periods).

I had several friendly conversations with Russian business men in Dubai. Over drinks. I recall thinking at the time “This great”
