I believe Putin is smart enough to have learned that he has big problems in his military.
High tech equipment does not eliminate the need for capable management and use of those weapons.
If the invasion of Ukraine has been so difficult for the Russian military, how could he expect a war with the US combined with a half dozen or so European armies to be anything other than a total disaster for Russia?
There is also the question of how much of this Russian threat is fear mongering on the part of the deep swamp, in an effort to stampede the American public into supporting a preemptive strike against Russia.
Just remember how many lies we have been told over the last two years and are still being told today on other matters already verified as lies.

If Putin Blows up a Ukraine army in Donbass with a low yield battlefield nuke, I doubt if NATO will blow up any Russian Cities nor would the NeoCons in the USA—No one wins a Nuke War. Putin will give warnings but—he will up the crisis in a slow, measured way. Time is on Putin’s side, and he knows it.

I do not blame the ordinary Russian people for what their dictator is doing in Ukraine. Not any more than one would blame the ordinary American citizen for what Bush did in Iraq/Syria/Afghanistan.
The Russian people are suffering too, for what the Clinton/Obama/Biden axis of evil has done in Ukraine. Yes, some will counter to say that it is Putin (not puppet Biden) who ordered the invasion into Ukraine. Russia and Ukraine were BOTH betrayed by the cockroaches in the West. Now we must all pay the price for their treachery.
I expect Russia will broaden the scope of interdiction.
I also expect them to do something to blatantly provoke NATO.

I don’t think we would. Doing so would assure our own destruction, as well as theirs. We might attack with conventional weapons, but we would not respond with a nuclear attack.
