Washington CNN —
Connecticut Democratic Gov. Ned Lamont on Thursday signed into law a bill designed to protect people who provide an abortion or receive support to obtain the procedure in Connecticut and are then sued in another state.
House Bill 5414, which was sponsored by state Democratic lawmakers and cleared the state Senate and House in recent weeks, enables a person or corporation who “has had a judgment entered” against them in another state for receiving, providing or helping a person obtain legal abortion services in Connecticut to sue for damages. The law is set to take effect on July 1.
Supporters of the law say it will protect women from other states who travel to Connecticut to receive abortions, as well as the physicians who provide them. The measure was prompted by a controversial Texas law that allows private citizens to take civil action to enforce its ban on abortion after about six weeks of pregnancy.
“I am very appreciative to the majority of lawmakers in Connecticut who had the foresight to draft this legislation at a time when the right to a safe and legal abortion in America is in jeopardy,” Lamont said in a statement. “I am proud to stand up for access to reproductive health care and reproductive freedom. As long as I am governor of this great state, we’ll never waiver on the right to choose, and the belief that medical decisions should be made between a patient and their doctor.”

Dammit they all knew this was going down in the supreme court. They had a heads up before it was “Leaked”
CT isn't actually that great.
Moloch is pleased with his followers. God is not.
the plan
"Flee your tax bill in Connecticut and find safe haven here."
Great idea. Notice that it's the pro-abortion states that have the high taxes.
so here we go the US will divide between the Sheep and the Goat states.
Gods wroth (and wrath) can focus on them Goats while the rest be blessed
Perfect timing we justescaped from Insleeington to the Redlands.
“..CT isn’t actually that great....”
The only thing I remember about CT is the I-84 rest area just before entering MA. It was closed due to budgetary issues and outhouses placed outside instead.....they hadn’t been cleaned in days. Nasty place, that CT.
Constitution State??? Don’t think so.
Empty grandstanding.
Connecticut has high taxes, high crime, no jobs, and more companies and people fleeing than coming in.
But at least they’ve got their priorities straight!
Come to Connecticut and kill your babies
If anyone has a few hours to kill and sufficient interest, this governor and his family going back several generations is pretty well mixed up with radical communist efforts.
I would go a step further and sterilize all democrats, so they can never get pregnant to begin with. That will solve their abortion problem, once and for all.
Another nail in the coffin of what was once a great country, blessed by God, when the masses feel pleasing Moloch is more important than pleasing the God who gave them this land.
IIRC the Constitution states that a state can’t restrict the actions/policies of other states. If I’m correct on that then Connecticut can’t protect their abortion butchers from, say,a court case filed in another state.
No,it’s certainly not great but if you’ve ever visited certain towns (Greenwich...New Canaan...Darien,etc),as I have, you know that it’s pretty damn rich!

While I don’t agree with abortion, the states need to decide. And decide quickly. It’s not like any of this is a surprise.
Certainly, the US Congress has had 50 years to figure this out. And they still couldn’t pass a bill.
It’s as if they would rather have the fund raising opportunities than doing their jobs.
This law has no purpose other than politics. It would never be used, ever. It is asburd. But there it is.
