Norfentanyl, a major metabolite of fentanyl, was detected in the serum of nine patients; norfentanyl was not detected in postmortem testing of patients E and I, presumably because death occurred before metabolism of fentanyl to norfentanyl.”how was George Floyd even still walking? Either he’d built up a resistance (can you do that?) or he was absolutely not a danger to anyone, other than to maybe falling on top of them. I can’t believe he’d be a threat as he was probably barely in control of his limbs
Although you think that this dpse of Fentanyl was the reason he died, it seems more likely that this undermines Chauvin’s claim that Floyd was dangerous and that he had to subdue him for “public safety

George was a petty criminal no doubt, but that wasn’t justification to kill him.
As shown during the trial, keeping the knee for so long was deadly.
He didn’t deserve a death sentence for an allegation of passing a forged 20.
Or would you agree that cops can do that to you if you are not violent?
The second-degree unintentional murder charge alleged Chauvin caused Floyd’s death “without intent” while committing or attempting to commit felony third-degree assault.
In turn, third-degree assault is defined as the intentional infliction of substantial bodily harm.
The third-degree murder charge alleged Chauvin caused Floyd’s death by “perpetrating an act eminently dangerous to others and evincing a depraved mind, without regard for human life.”
The second-degree manslaughter charge alleged Chauvin caused Floyd’s death by “culpable negligence whereby the person creates an unreasonable risk, and consciously takes chances of causing death or great bodily harm.”
As I am not a lawyer I don’t understand why they choose those 3.

“Unconscious neck restraint” will make the subject pass out in ten seconds.
It’s a restraint I was taught late in my deputy career. I was also the subject of the “unconscious neck restraint”, so I know how few seconds are involved to “tap-out”.

All Saint Floyd had to do was do what the officers said.

Why do you call floyd a saint? He was a petty criminal.

Nope, Timpa was also killed by a cop keeping a knee on his neck for too long. Do you think the cop was justified in that case?

The restraint hold that Chauvin put on Floyd was explicitly defined and explicitly approved in the Minneapolis Police Manual.
Before the Floyd death, the same restraint was explicitly approved by hundreds (perhaps thousands) of USA Police Departments.
Before Floyd, how many people were killed by that restraint?
Probably zero - but there were lawsuits won by alleged victims of similar restraints.
By the way - fentanyl induces sleep, and it usually kills by suppressing breathing.

I hadn’t seen the video, but I understand the camera angle made the hold appear to be on his neck—but the pressure was being placed on his shoulder-blade—which would be approved.
I can’t put myself in Chauvins place, as I probably outweigh him by 60-80 pounds.
