Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R) was projected to win his state’s GOP gubernatorial primary Tuesday, fending off challenges from populist detractors who argued he was insufficiently conservative.
NBC News and CNN both called the race for DeWine around 8:17 p.m. ET.
He defeated former Rep. Jim Renacci, restaurateur Joe Blystone and former state Rep. Ron Hood.

Boring opposition failed to take out boring incumbent.
Film at 11.
I saw little of the Renacci campaign. Very quiet for a challenger.
Maybe we’ll learn and stop running Renacci. He’s a loser.
Maybe it’s better to re-up token moderates to show we’re not that ‘far right’. The senate is different-where the action is. No room for a rino unless the state is blue(Collins). Use your heads my friends.

The sequel will be played in Georgia.
Ugh. We didn’t even get the least repulsive turd in this one.
I don’t live in Ohio, but I don’t consider DeSwine a moderate. He’s a slimebag. But OH loves it’s Republican slimebag governors. It’s their thing.
I may have to vote for a democrat for the first time in my life. DeWine doesn’t deserve the job
You’ll be voting for a transplanted Hoosier.
Nan is from Mooresville, Indiana.
Ohio Republicans are the worst.
An April survey from the Trafalgar Group, a GOP firm, showed Dewine leading with 40 percent support, followed by 26 percent for Renacci, 24 percent for Blystone and 2 percent for Hood.
As usual, the GOP establishment were able to splinter the conservatives in order to let the RINO win.
They sure are.
Could be worse. At least DeWine is not Hogan.
DeWine’s appearance reminds me of the child murdered, Eric Smith.
At least DeWine has promised to sign any pro-life trigger legislation should Roe go down.

Mike DeWine is a good, decent man. He knows - absolutely knows - the new gerrymandered maps he signed are totally inconsistent with the reforms Ohio voters put in place just a few years ago. Disappointing that he caved to the extreme part of his party.
I voted for DeWine. Not a big fan, but we could do far worse when you consider many other state governors. I also want a candidate who stands a good chance of beating the Democrat candidate.
Ohio elects Kasich/DeWine-style Republicans. It is what it is.
Yep. She was our awful mayor.
