Supporters of Roe v. Wade are spreading fears that Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito’s draft decision overturning the landmark abortion case would mean that other Court precedents, including interracial marriage, could also be canceled.

Why ?
On Constitutional grounds.
/\
The constitution says same sex marriage is not allowed ?
Where ?
//
Does it involve murder ?
Few cases before the Supreme Court involve murder.
But if there is no constitutional right to an abortion
then how can there be a constitutional right to same sex marriage? Or birth control? Or interracial marriage?
\/
Cuz,,,
Those things aren’t murder ‘ dawg’
Smh.
You really are obtuse,, or maybe just a prog.
Really? Justice Thomas wants to make his own marriage illegal?
These people are stupid. Really, really stupid.
Okay, there are a few people here and there, but this kind of proves my point: this guy said he wouldn’t marry an interracial couple. But this guy was not trying to get the law changed, was he?
Has John Kerry whined yet that the abortion fight will distract the public from climate change?
WTF does one have to do with the OTHER!!! ABORTION KILLS BABIES.....PERIOD!!!
Overturning Roe v Wade means NO ONE can make a decent OMELET! Or FLIP a good pancake!! OH MY!
This is an incredibly retarded and scare-mongering approach to denigrating overturning Roe.
Roe created a right where none existed and upon which the Constitution was entirely silent. In fact, Roe overturned centuries of rights of the unborn codified in law.
Marriage is a right in law, religion, and culture. Additionally, the 14th amendment specifically protects existing rights from state encroachment. While some states had miscegenation laws on the books, they had no laws banning marriage. Equal protection merely upheld the right to marriage across or between the races, not some right to marriage unto itself.
It’s in now way similar to abortion.
“I think surveys show maybe 4% of people in the U.S. don’t believe in interracial marriage”
I think the percentage must be higher than 4%. I’m in that group. Not for moral or religious reasons. I prefer distinct diverse groups, and respect that every group has its unique attributes.
My family has of a few interracial marriages. The cultural issues are big problems, and the kids suffer. Actually, the extended family suffers because of the attitudes brought into the dynamics of family gatherings — the way people speak to each other, the respect issues.
Of course, it should NOT be made illegal. That’s insane. (It used to be, right?)
Overturning Roe means everything bad that the hysterical lefties can think of will happen.
Overturning Roe means everything bad that the hysterical lefties can think of will happen.
The justice who leaked r whose staffer leaked may no longer be in on any discussions amongst the justices about cases. I suspect Sotomayor or Kagan or perhaps even Roberts. All three might see themselves as having something to gain or some revenge to take.
“But will there be massive herds of nazi Velociraptors riding huge groups of motorcycles on our interstates?“
Likely. Things are bound to get ugly.
Nowhere in his written decision did Alito call them 'state law issues'. No reason why a ban on abortion couldn't originate from Congress.
Give them time. When they have this as a precedent then it would make their case stronger.
All they have is lies and fear.
I don’t consider Hispanic/ white marriages interracial.
.
How many babies are killed when an interracial couple gets married?
They rarely ever marry them anyway.
Requires a constitutional amendment
All the criteria Alito used to say abortion is no where in the Constitution and no where in the history of the customs of the United States and should never have been heard by the Supreme Court CAN BE APPLIED TO SAME-SEX “marriage.”
Even California voted against not long before Anthony Kennedy made it the law of the land.
