Responding to the Monday night leak of a draft majority opinion that, if adopted, would overturn Roe v. Wade, Republican Senator Susan Collins accused Supreme Court Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch of reneging on commitments they allegedly made ahead of their respective confirmations.
“If this leaked draft opinion is the final decision and this reporting is accurate, it would be completely inconsistent with what Justice Gorsuch and Justice Kavanaugh said in their hearings and in our meetings,” Collins wrote. “Obviously, we won’t know each Justice’s decision and reasoning until the Supreme Court officially announces its opinion in this case.”

At 1:20 of that video, she is being consistent if this draft resembles the final ruling. Returns the question to each individual state, since we are a republic.
And Amy is correct, the core is that abortion itself will not be held illegal, but that each state decides whether it’s citizens can obtain in that state or go elsewhere. Context matters.
Her beliefs are in tact and the video backs that up. Collins can take her baby murdering beliefs to her own state.
Hopefully it continues to keep the nutcases out of my beautiful Wyoming.
SCOTUS should finalize and release the ruling in two weeks, max.
I’d be surprised, happily surprised if this gets turned over but I think this whole thing is a stunt to energize the lefts voting base and get ready for the summer of violence.

Even if Roe was overturned her kids. grandkids, and great grandkids could hop a bus and get an abortion within hours. It’ll be up to the states to make the decision. But she knows that ... It’s NOT 1950 there are abortion clinics in every blue state and every blue city and it’ll stay that way.

Susan Collins has a short memory. When Gorsuch and Kavanaugh made a commitment to Preserve Roe they were probably talking about preservation of salmon roe by canning in Maine not Roe vs Wade.

The justices rule on the case in front of them.
They don’t simply pull an old ruling off the shelf and change them.

Collins knows better, these justices didn't "commit" to anything but upholding the constitution. She's as bad as Murkowski and Romney, all 3 need to go.
