The organizers of one farm-oriented festival in Northern California appear to be trying to save another popular event. The Noceti Group, organizer of the San Joaquin Asparagus Festival, announced on Facebook on Sunday that it intends to save the annual Gilroy Garlic Festival. Organizers of the popular Bay Area food and entertainment festival had announced in April they intended to shut down the event, according to the Gilroy Dispatch newspaper.

“We heard the extremely sad news that the Gilroy Garlic Festival will not be holding their annual big Garlic festival. We just couldn’t let that happen!” read a post on the San Joaquin Asparagus Festival’s Facebook page. “The Noceti Group is thrilled to announce we will be hosting the Garlic Festival this year. More details to come soon! Stay tuned!”

I’ve been to Gilroy but it wasn’t Festival time when I was there, this is one festival I would like to attend.

I love garlic in most food especially Italian.

Nothing better than a good red sauce, pasta, and fine bottle of chianti.

Wonderful news! I lived in CA for several years and I couldn’t believe that the Gilroy Garlic Festival was going away. Everybody loved it.

Yeah, the Garlic Festival needs to be move away from the urban area to deter the predators from attending.

Casa de Fruta or somewhere like that would be a much safer venue. Maybe Hollister.

Casa de Fruta would be a good location. They have a Renaissance Festival there, so I know they could handle it.

Ah Casa De Fruta. Thats where my buddies and I would pick up a handle of Vodka for the trip down 5 to San Diego. Never bought fruit there, though.

my favorites are Amatriciana and Shrimp Fra Diavolo, both loaded up with garlic, maybe a little garlic bread to soak up the gravy and I’m in a great mood.
