Rep. Adam Kinzinger on Sunday said he has introduced a resolution to authorize US military force if Russia uses chemical, biological or nuclear weapons in Ukraine — calling the scenario a “clear red line.”
Kinzinger (R-Ill.) revealed on CBS’ “Face the Nation” that he introduced the resolution, which, if passed by Congress, would give President Biden the authorization to allow the US to help militarily Ukraine against Russia’s invasion.
“I don’t think we need to be using force in Ukraine right now. I just introduced an AUMF, an authorization for the use of military force, giving the president basically congressional leverage for permission to use it if [weapons of mass destruction] — nuclear, biological or chemical — are used in Ukraine,” Kinzinger told host Margaret Brennan.
The Air Force veteran, who twice served in Iraq, said the authorization would provide Biden leverage while also serving as a deterrent to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

A large portion of Free Republic supports Kinzinger and Biden and Cheney.
President Trump actually bombed Syria for using Chemical Weapons as I recall. They crossed Obama’s red line before but nothing happened. They crossed it again and Trump took action.
BTW, I’ve always wondered about Assad’s chemical weapons. Did his military develop them, or were they sent to Syria in 2003 by Saddam to evade the UN Weapons inspectors?

It’s clear to me where we’re going.
I wonder if this war is designed to be a distraction from what they are doing with the “great reset”?
I bet when we come out of this mess we will find our government was quietly building a prison around us.

Neither. It was later shown to be a False Flag. Very common when the media takes one side in a war.
The New World Order wants a war so they can get global control.
Both.
When are we going to do something about Mexico?
RE: Neither. It was later shown to be a False Flag. Very common when the media takes one side in a war.
What does this mean?
That Syria NEVER ACTUALLY USED Chemical Weapons and Trump’s bombing was based on false information?
That Saddam had no more Chemical weapons after he used them on the Kurds?
500,000
Sustainable population utopia is in the batter box.
How is Kinzinger’s re-election campaign going? Is he getting lots of support for his membership on the Jan. 6 committee and his authorization for war resolution? Oh, I see he’s retiring. Wonder why? I know he thinks he’ll be remembered for being on the ‘right side of history’.
RE: Both
See Post #6 above.
Friggin idiots. To think that we used to have folks like Andy Marshall and Tom Schelling thinking out our nuclear strategy. Now we cannot find folks who can scratch their own arses.
My opinion of Trump plummeted after that.
Trump promised "America First" and no more foreign wars. Then he caved to the Neocons (and caved to Ivanka and Jared) and interfered in Syria's civil war.
If they get this war it will be a great reset, maybe not the one they were hoping for.
“President Trump actually bombed Syria for using Chemical Weapons as I recall”
While not a full blown neocon, Trump was and is ultimately a do-gooder.
A terrible basis for foreign policy.
I’m sure there’s cause to intervene in Darfur too...for simpleton do-gooders:
“The War in Darfur, also nicknamed the Land Cruiser War,[note 1] is a major armed conflict in the Darfur region of Sudan that began in February 2003 when the Sudan Liberation Movement (SLM) and the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) rebel groups began fighting against the government of Sudan, which they accused of oppressing Darfur’s non-Arab population.[28][29] The government responded to attacks by carrying out a campaign of ethnic cleansing against Darfur’s non-Arabs. This resulted in the death of hundreds of thousands of civilians and the indictment of Sudan’s president, Omar al-Bashir, for genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity by the International Criminal Court.[30]”
Far, FAR more civilian slaughter than Ukraine. At least 10X.
And no cries from the FR neocon and do-gooder factions...and I mean NONE...for US intervention in Darfur.
Which has at least the level of US national interests at stake.
Effin’ hypocrites.
RE: My opinion of Trump plummeted after that.
So, you are against his targeted killngs of ISIS leader Al Baghdadi and Iran’s General Suleimani?
Can’t speak for Saddam, but correct regarding Assad. He had nothing to gain by using chemicals, as he was kicking butt, thanks to the Russian help.
It’s just the typical Western means to ‘justify’ bombing others, we did the same in the former Yugoslavia, and there have been plenty of False Flags in this war, although none (so far) claiming Chemical Weapons - although that could change if it gets much worse for Ukraine.
