“This is an escalation worthy of note.”

Russia can end this today if it just calls off its invasion of a smaller and weaker neighbor that posed no real threat to Russia. Why won’t Russia do that, do you think?

Not my business to evaluate Russian motives.

It is my business to evaluate Russian Submarines and Submarine Launched Missiles.

Why won’t Russia do that, do you think?
***They want the oil & gas reserves. This war is about OIL. https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/4050958/posts

The Russians weren’t even interested in eastern Ukraine until oil was found there. Their interest is simply in raping that country. Russia gets 60% of its revenues from oil exports. Europe gets 40% of their oil from Russia.

In 2012 massive oil and gas reserves were found in Crimea. Crimea signed a $10 billion exploration contracts with Shell and Chevron to develop the new found oil and gas fields. These oil and gas products would compete in Europe with Russia’s oil and gas, reducing Russia’s oil revenues, which we recall amount to 60% of their total GDP. Russia annexed Crimea in 2014, cancelling the contracts with Shell and Chevron.

But Ukraine still had massive reserves in, you guessed it, Donetsk and Luhansk, and other areas East of the Dnieper River. In 2019, Energy Secretary Rick Perry visited Ukraine, and soon after Ukraine awarded exploration contracts to a consortium of U.S. oil companies. Again, these oil reserves would compete in Europe with Russian oil, so Putin is invading Ukraine to shut down this latest attempt to extract Ukrainian oil and sell it in competition with Russian oil.

This explanation makes more sense to me than the “Putin feels threatened by NATO expansion” excuses for the invasion.

If the Ukes allow some small region in the west to be its own republic, but the OIL belongs to Ukraine, do ya think Pootypoot would allow that? Nope.

Speaking of smaller and weaker neighbors, have you heard the Putin is now threatening little Moldova? There is a strip of land between them and Ukraine where there is some disturbance like Donbas. I don’t know the details. Also, Moldova is not that far from Odessa along its southern border.

There was an article about a US nuclear submarine that tied up about a week ago at Gibralter, rather than the Spanish liberty port Rota. This was around the same time that one of the 6 recently dead Russian oligarchs was found dead while vacationing in a town in Catalonia, Spain. His wife and child had been hacked with an ax and knife. The husband was also dead and it was called murder, murder, suicide. I believe it was 3 murders. I wonder if their death was before or after the sub arrived, and if it affected the decision to use Gibralter rather than Rota? At any rate there is now nuclear missiles within reasonable shooting distance from Moscow.

Russia wants their natural resources. Just as they will want Israels in the end times. The bible lays it all out

It all comes down to power and resources.

Putin has a small window to act with pedo/slow Joe at the helm.

I bet in a few months we’re all going to really miss the summer of lockdown 2020.

Why won’t Russia do that, do you think?

Maybe because they don't want NATO 300 miles from Moscow?

Let me ask you a question; since you think brushes out there committing war crimes and invading weaker neighbors and all that what about those children in the United States killed in the drone attack and revenge for the suicide bombing and cabal that wasn’t even the person that did it? Should we send Joe Biden for war crimes to the Hague?

Wrong question. Why did Putin choose to go in? What happened to make him believe this was a safe move.
