Russia used a diesel submarine in the Black Sea to strike Ukrainian military targets with Kalibr cruise missiles, the first time Moscow has announced the use of its submarine fleet to hit its former Soviet neighbor.
The Russian defense ministry released a video showing a volley of Kalibr missiles emerging from the sea and soaring off into the horizon - to what the ministry said were Ukrainian military targets.
This is the first time Russia's military has reported using submarine strikes against Ukrainian targets, Interfax news agency reported on Friday.

This was never about protecting Ukraine, it is a proxy war, was always about Russia, NATO will fight to the last Ukrainian, and Zelensky is hardly a saint. We need to stay out of this war:

Whatever. Russia still needs to get out of Ukraine, get out of Georgia, return the Kurile Islands, and then denazify itself or we can do it for them.

“According to various estimates, Zelensky’s fortune is estimated at US$850 million. He did not receive most of this amount until he became president,” the Twitter statement said.

I’m okay with the Russians keeping up their tradition of killing their own subs.
I now think that Putin WANTS to use nukes. He keeps ratcheting things up....almost daily. This invasion is decimating the Russian military. He’s going to feel like his back is against the wall, he has cancer, he has a cold soul and he has to know that he is forevermore a global pariah and I predict he’ll go nuclear. Nothing big, but who knows? And nuclear only has ONE “u” in it.
Speaking of smaller and weaker neighbors, have you heard the Putin is now threatening little Moldova? There is a strip of land between them and Ukraine where there is some disturbance like Donbas. I don’t know the details. Also, Moldova is not that far from Odessa along its southern border.
There was an article about a US nuclear submarine that tied up about a week ago at Gibralter, rather than the Spanish liberty port Rota. This was around the same time that one of the 6 recently dead Russian oligarchs was found dead while vacationing in a town in Catalonia, Spain. His wife and child had been hacked with an ax and knife. The husband was also dead and it was called murder, murder, suicide. I believe it was 3 murders. I wonder if their death was before or after the sub arrived, and if it affected the decision to use Gibralter rather than Rota? At any rate there is now nuclear missiles within reasonable shooting distance from Moscow.
Do people still think this is about denazification ?

Putin has about 1500 troops in Transnistria. That’s enough to cause trouble but not enough to pose a genuine threat.
As of now those troops are cut off from resupply and reinforcement from any direction.

There is some truth to that. But I think a sub can make its way through the Bosporos. Also, there’s Russian soil in the Black Sea and the Azomov Sea.
