Barr: No prosecutions for Hunter Biden laptop censorship
Washington Examiner ^ | Apr 28, 2022 | Daniel Chaitin

Censorship of the laptop believed to have belonged to Hunter Biden in the final weeks of the 2020 election doesn't warrant prosecutions, according to former Attorney General William Barr.

Newsmax host Sean Spicer, who served as former President Donald Trump's first White House press secretary, pressed Barr on Thursday about whether there will be any "legal consequences" for the suppression of the story and for those who dismissed it as Russian disinformation.

"Not that I can think of," Barr said after noting that politicians and the media have a propensity to tell lies.....

Barr agreed with Spicer that Republicans can investigate the laptop story, but when the host posited that there is "nothing" for which they could elicit a prosecution, the former attorney general said "Right."

Note the words “legal consequences”.

There will be other consequences if we do our job.

He’s trash. His FBI had it for over a year until that heroic repairman finally got it out despite the FBI warning him to stay quiet.

The POS Barr knew it was there and helped hide it because he was part of the “get Trump out” crowd.

I do not want to live in a country where the gov’t can prosecute the news.

That is how you end up with a Disinformation Governance Board

Shame on Spicer for allowing Barr on his show to promote his book. Barr had the opportunity to do a great service for this country but took a pass.

“ Barr is a Barrel of hot air.”

That’s pretty nice.

My thoughts went more to a 20 second fart surrounded by mounds of walrus blubber.

.......there was a day long ago when Barr had a good reputation.

When I think of Barr today I think of his moral and intellectual equivalents e.g..........Eric Holder, Barrack Obama, Jeff Sessions and Lorretta Lynch.

Thankfully, Herr Barr, it is not up to you. Those special counsels are a bitch.....

I’ve tried to map the activity to campaign finance and just cannot do it. I don’t see any criminal activity in blocking publication on Tw/FB of the Biden MacBook. I DO see a possible interference tort, but that never puts people in jail. Other attorneys have a notion here?

“Barr is a Barrel of hot air.”
Yes he is, but that doesn’t mean he’s wrong in this instance. You have to have a crime to prosecute.

1.) Revoke their broadcast license.
2.) File anti-trust cases against the tech companies.
3.) Campaign finance violations for “in kind” donations.
4.) Have the FBI question the executives and trick them into making false statements.
5.) Conspiracy and Racketeering charges for companies making money off the previously mentioned crimes.

There is absolutely no doubt that the Dems would at least try all of these things if the shoe was on the other foot.

“He’s trash.”
He sure is, but he’s right about this. What would be the crime?

100% correct, but all the constitutional and law experts on here will tell you otherwise.
