Masks aren’t required on U.S. flights for now after a federal judge lifted a nationwide mask mandate covering planes and other forms of public transportation, though the Department of Justice is filing an appeal to overturn the decision after a request from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The lifting of the mask mandate has led some people on social media to express their concerns for immunocompromised passengers.
Some medical experts, including Leana Wen, M.D., a public health professor at George Washington University and CNN medical analyst, have previously said that “one-way masking,” where someone is wearing a high-quality mask but others around them are not, still protects the wearer from COVID-19.

Had you fully read my post you would know the answer, but I’ll explain it to you.
Your body defends you from viruses all the time - you are under constant viral attack. If the invading viruses should become too numerous, you can’t keep up and you get sick - possibly opening the floodgates for other viruses.
Any defense is better than no defense, since it reduces viral load, adding to your marginal defenses. So, yes, if you reduce them by 50%, to use your number, it DOES make a difference - for anybody exposed to less than 2 times what their body could otherwise resist.
It is a continuum. Stop thinking binarily.

Start educating people rather than agitating for mass vulnerability. But even partial protection reduces your chance of getting covid or other diseases. However, if you don’t want to wear a mask, then don’t. I don’t agree with mandates - mask or vax - but I do object to the misinformation being spread by the antis. The absolutists on either side are LIARS.
I’ve also noticed that there is a massive decline in many other transmissible diseases and even allergies. This is due to masking and social distancing. I’ve noticed it for myself and my family during heavy mask use periods, and now that we don’t mask (much), the minor sniffles and allergies have returned, even without much close social interaction. So, make of it what you will. Mask or don’t. Vax or don’t. But can the false claims.

If you were/are against vaxx and mask mandates ..then why in the world are you portraying anti vaxxers, it would seem as a group, as violent or anti freedom?

I disagree. The initial load might be smaller - although I doubt most masks do much here - but even very small initial viral loads can rapidly reproduce to make up for it. That is a big part of what makes some viruses more infectious.
I spent my life in the military. For biological warfare, we had gas masks and full body suits. Not N95 masks. Because it only takes a very small leak to kill you just as dead.

Because I’ve seen how nasty they get if you contradict their narrative, how illogical they are - as a group, apparently. They are not willing to tolerate dissent any more than the climate alarmists. And I have seen them make threats against people who chose to mask. They blame every death on the vaxxes, every adverse event, even when it is pointed out to them that the same crap was happening long before there were any vaccines.
I am neither anti nor pro vax. I am neither anti nor pro mask. (Side note - everybody that did not mask in my church Easter Sunday got covid, nobody that had an N95 mask got covid, and only some, about half, of the people with less effective (cloth) masks got covid. We don’t know who the super spreader was, but apparently masks DO work.) I am simply anti mandate.
And I have also seen (can name names, if needed) plenty of these loons call for zotting people that simply disagreed with their narrative.
As I said, plenty of people simply stopped bothering and if they even visit the site anymore, they only lurk. The frothing fanatics have ruined debate.

The load has to overcome your immune response. There is a constant, continuous battle, 24/7. Enough of a load will overcome your defenses, but it is a continuum. Different bugs will combine forces, sometimes. One weakens you, the next guy takes you out. Virtually nobody dies of the flu - they die of secondary infections like pneumonia. Think of it more like breeching a levee - you’re okay up to the point where the water starts coming over the top. If you were already at flood stage, it does not take as much more to do you in.
