Putin has deployed Iskander-M mobile battlefield missile launchers within 40 miles of the Ukrainian border, Ukraine's military has said.
The mobile system's two ballistic missiles have a range of up to 300 miles and can carry conventional or nuclear warheads.
'Then enemy has increased the number of troops in the Belgorod region by transferring and concentrating additional units,' the Ukrainian Armed Forces said in its daily morning update.
According to available information, Iskander-M launchers have been deployed 60 km from the border with Ukraine,' it said, without providing more detail on the location of the systems.
Belgorod is a city and the administrative centre of Russia's Belgorod region, north of the border with Ukraine.
The Iskander, a mobile ballistic missile system codenamed SS-26 Stone by NATO, replaced the Soviet Scud missile.
First used in combat in 2008 in Georgia, the Iskander is designed to confound missile defences by flying on a low trajectory and manoeuvring in flight to strike targets as far out as 500km with an accuracy of 2-5 metres, according to the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).

I lived through the 60s with the “duck and cover” and “air raid” drills in school. Guy across the street had a fallout shelter.

Nobody is going to use nuclear weapons. The cost-benefit analysis is not there, not even remotely there.

Prevailing winds run west to east. Any nuclear attack will irradiate all crops in Ukraine for 10,000 years and the fallout will be blown towards Russia.
People pushing this nonsense should be held accountable, how many of these so-called experts have stock in weapons industry?

“Prevailing winds run west to east.”
Generally that is true. Now explain after Chernobyl went up the radiation that showed up at the UK’s nuclear submarine base, Gare Loch, in Scotland.
They said the radiation detectors went nuts for days after it arrived there.

Theyve been using Iksanders since the beginning of the war. Many missiles CAN be equipped with nuclear weapons, thats a far cry from actually being equipped with them.

It's not like Russia said they would not allow Ukraine to become an armed member of NATO or anything. Oh wait, they did.

The winds cycle east to west then pushed up to the poles while air from the poles is pulled downwards. There are many images on the internet that show how the air moves.
You are correct that the radiation was detected after the reactor went up.
The key point remains the same, Russia would get hit with the fallout first, then it will move upwards towards Northern Europe and from there to the North Pole and then down to the rest of the planet.
Nobody wins.
