Senator Roy Blunt (R-MO) said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that he was “surprised” to hear House Minority Kevin McCarthy (D-CA) make the suggestion then-President Donald Trump would resign after the riot at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, when he only had a few days left to serve.
Guest host Kristen Welker said, “Senator, let me ask you about the big story this week impacting your party. This is a new audiotape we heard from the top Republican in the House, Leader Kevin McCarthy. Let’s begin with revelations in the new book ‘This Will Not Pass,’ the authors released audio in which we hear McCarthy days after January 6 saying this about then-President Trump. Take a listen, and I’ll your reaction on the other side.”

I’ll concede that McCarthy is a knucklehead, but this whole narrative is a democrat/media smokescreen. Trial subpoenas were issued for DNC and Clinton campaign staff and there was ZERO media coverage - but the McCarthy tale was covered breathlessly.

For those too young o remember Edgar Bergen, his ventriloquist act was so popular he had a radio show.
What McCarthy apparently said on the FULL tape, not the NBC version, was that if there were the votes in the Senate to remove President Trump, he should resign. Well, yes. That would save the country a lot of trouble. Barring that, no way.
How can anyone believe anything McCarthy says in the future?

McCarthy shot off his big brave pie-hole because he wanted to sound tough, and now he's too gutless even to own up.
He is anything but a leader.

Strange - how is Blunt on the news being interviewed? We were told he was in jail. Evidence for this was a photograph of him with his hands behind his back - “proof” of a military ‘sting operation’, we were told.
