PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police say a woman shot her husband twice, possibly in self-defense, in the Germantown section of Philadelphia.
Police say the 34-year-old woman fired from a car at Chew and Brinton streets around midnight Friday.
The 40-year-old husband was struck in both of his legs.
The gunfire also damaged an unattended, parked car and a nearby home.
Police found the woman in her car around the corner from the scene.
Investigators say she is cooperating.
"She does have an active protection from abuse warrant against her husband. We did verify that through our computer system. So there is a possibility this shooting may be self-defense," Philadelphia Chief Inspector Scott Small said.
Police found a spent shell casing in her vehicle. They also located the weapon.
The man was taken to Einstein Medical Center in stable condition.
Police were interviewing a witness.
No charges have been filed.
Assault with a deadly weapon/attempted murder is crime from any location.
Felony missed da wiener.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. WSWYDT
Good, valid point.
I’ve heard where hunters have shot deer from their trucks, and were arrested and charged with shooting from a vehicle.
Good and valid point as well. I suppose that law is there to discourage drive-by’s.
Which one of the 2000 parts is “Germantown”? /s
I don’t think you can shoot close to roads either but that doesn’t seem to help the pitiful road signs around me.
Ping.
I shot my pajamas
LOL!
Where I live discharging a firearm in the city limits is against the law.
Same here, unless it’s a legal self-defense act.
“unless it’s a legal self-defense act”
Which is kinda what’s being implied here but the circumstances seem odd to say the least.
Shooting low could most probably be a result of recoil anticipation (firearm unfamiliarity/fear), not necessarily intentional low aim, distance/bullet drop, or even intentional crippling attempt.
Pennsylvania Ping!
Please ping me with articles of interest.
FReepmail me to be added to the list.
I knew a guy shot in his Germantown and it almost killed him.
