PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police say a woman shot her husband twice, possibly in self-defense, in the Germantown section of Philadelphia.
Police say the 34-year-old woman fired from a car at Chew and Brinton streets around midnight Friday.
The 40-year-old husband was struck in both of his legs.
The gunfire also damaged an unattended, parked car and a nearby home.
Police found the woman in her car around the corner from the scene.
Investigators say she is cooperating.
"She does have an active protection from abuse warrant against her husband. We did verify that through our computer system. So there is a possibility this shooting may be self-defense," Philadelphia Chief Inspector Scott Small said.
Police found a spent shell casing in her vehicle. They also located the weapon.
The man was taken to Einstein Medical Center in stable condition.
Police were interviewing a witness.
No charges have been filed.
Shot him in the Germantown?

From the limited amount of information this sounds more like a drive by shooting than selfdefence.

If the woman was in a car, and assuming she was the driver, I am hard pressed to come up with a scenario where shooting out of the window at an aggressor and hitting them in the legs is a justified use of deadly force.
Hitting the target in the legs while seated in a car implies some distance between the car and the target, which absent the target having their own firearm aimed at the car implies no imminent threat, therefore no justification.
Germantown has long ago stopped being populated by ethnic Germans. The present ethnicity is largely AA.
It doesn’t say she was driving, just that she was in a car.
Apparently more range time is needed.

Restraining orders are so easy for women to get,
it means next to nothing that she has one.
The implication is that he threatened her and was
certain to be a threat here. That may not be the case
at all.
Firing from a car is a crime; don’t know if it’s felony or not.

Now they’re expanding their destruction to outlying counties.
Germantown is a really painful place to get shot.
There are no more Germans left in Germantown.
