The two French tourists struck and killed this week by a No. 3 train in Brooklyn have been identified as well-known graffiti artists who hoped to leave their mark in New York City.
Pierre Audebert, 28, and Julian Blanc, 34, were fatally struck by a Manhattan-bound train sometime late Tuesday or early Wednesday, police said.

One of my recurring nightmares is trying to outrun a train in a dark narrow tunnel. There is not enough room on the sides to allow the train to pass so you must get outside the tunnel before the train runs you over.

They missed their subway transfer, so instead they went for the French Connection.

You’ll be fine if you dream that the wall to the parallel tracks is made of columns to stand between. Just don’t dream stepping over the 3rd rail.
[AFAIK, NYC train walls might be solid under rivers, but are just support columns, when there are multiple tracks - often 4, 2 local and 2 express]

“I thought of them as brothers,” French-Algerian street artist Ceet Fouad reportedly said. “I’m totally devastated.” So were they.

There’s a reason the subway tracks are surrounded by razor wire fensing.
