Climate progress remains elusive for Biden on Earth Day

SEATTLE (AP) — With a backdrop of flowering trees, it was a setting fit for the signing of major environmental legislation. Even Seattle’s notorious clouds parted as President Joe Biden stepped up to speak Friday.

But when he sat down at a small desk with the presidential seal that had been set up for the occasion, there was no new law to sign, just an executive order directing federal officials to keep better track of trees in national forests.

The gap between the scale of the global warming crisis and the president’s initiatives seemed wider than ever on Earth Day. Although last year’s infrastructure legislation had some climate policies, such as building more charging stations for electric cars, many of Biden’s most ambitious proposals remain stalled in Congress.

With so much of his agenda in doubt, Biden instead drew a sharp contrast with his predecessor, former President Donald Trump, who often mocked climate change as he unraveled the country’s fight against global warming during his time in office.

“We’ve reached the point where the crisis on the environment has become so obvious, with the notable exception of the former president, that we really have an opportunity to do things we couldn’t have done two, five, 10 years ago,” Biden said.

Biden said he was staking his hopes on an up-and-coming generation.

“Every time I get a little down ... I just turn on the television or take a look at all the young people,” he said. “This younger generation is not going to put up with all this stuff. No, they’re not.”

Everyone of these deep state mutts is a low-IQ, brainwashed moron who wouldn’t have the smarts to open a wet paperbag.

Climate progress is elusive for everybody. It’s way too big for humans. We can’t speed up or slow the rotation of the earth, we can’t change the tilt of Earth’s axis, we can’t do anything to move the earth nearer to or farther from the sun. We have no ability at all to change the amount of energy coming from the sun. The best we can do is try to manage tiny tiny amounts of carbon dioxide and methane so minuscule that we can’t even measure them accurately. And these carbon compounds have an exceedingly tenuous effect on the amount of sunlight reaching the ground or heat leaving the atmosphere, since water vapor is the most influential component of air as it relates to climate.

Pretty automatic for Gropin' Joe.

...an executive order directing federal officials to keep better track of trees in national forests.

Are you listening folks? Any of you middle-of-the-road types stumble in here take heed:

With all the problems and issues facing the Nation and the world today, what occupies no small amount of time for the Biden administration? Literally sending people out to count trees.

Make no mistake, this wasn't just 30 seconds of one guy's time to sign some BS. There are hundreds of hours of work behind any EO. So yeah, I guess to this disconnected and whacked-out admin going out and counting trees is more important than inflation, border security, China, Ukraine, etc. Nope, gotta know how many Oaks per acre there are. Oh yeah, that'll be useful... ;-/

Climate Change and, you know, that kind of stuff. Is so important to me that I had to hop in my 747, and bring a spare, to fly across the country to sign this thing about watching trees, or something. Where’s my Easter Bunny?..
-Biden Earth Day 2022, probably

All the youth so concerned about the environment, but have zero concern about the waste of the billions of masks that they love to wear because they “care” for others. The hypocrisy is astounding.

“Climate progress remains elusive for Biden”

Maybe, dumbo AP writer, that’s because the climate cannot be controlled, nor can it be tamed.

Climate progress is so tough to achieve, for one reason.

God created it to be very resilient. There’s nothing wrong
with it.

Normally 55-60 F here, today around 35 F with frequent hail and snow showers. 10% for the big guy on the way by FedEx if they don’t slide off the road on the way.

Yes, they are tiny amounts. The issue is natural and manmade variation from a variety of causes. That makes the numbers jump around and appear to be inaccurate. But measurements themselves are fairly accurate, within 2.5% plus or minus from the actual value.
