The arrival of a USS Georgia submarine in the port of Gibraltar has sparked a diplomatic row between Spain and the US. The Spanish Foreign Ministry has confirmed that it has lodged an official protest with the US. The Spanish authorities wanted the submarine to anchor at the Rota naval base instead, where the US Georgia had already been based in August 2020. The reasons and the duration for the stopover of the submarine remain unknown.

Screen door gaskets leaking again?
I thought Gibraltar was a British outpost, not part of Spain.
Rename the sub “George Floyd”.
The motto: “I can’t breathe.”
;-)
ESAD commie scum!
Russia is now jamming GPS over Ukraine (which, by the way, is why you don’t hear about our drones doing anything, anymore).
Perhaps they jammed this sub’s GPS and it wound up at Gibraltar by mistake.
I would say “tough tacos” to Spain, but that food is Mexican and not Spanish.
Fairly certain Gibralter is still British...makes it sound like the Spaniards wanted the liberty cash from the sailors..not a lot to get worked up about...so why the hubbub....
One of the womyn sailors at the helm, and she pulled into the wrong port.
Probably missed a spot when they applied the Flex Seal.
Shocking!! the brits will prolly load them out with fresh fruit and veggies!
It was that time of month and she was out of sorts.
How about “Tough Tapas”?
I am curious as to where the submarine was headed and for what purpose.
Spain has been agitating to get Gibraltar back for 300 years, claiming the continuing British presence is illegitimate. They probably view the Georgia docking there as legitimizing the continuing British presence.
‘Course they have the same situation further south, continuing to occupy Melilla and Ceuta on the coast of Morocco, much to the Moroccans’ displeasure.
It is.
Tough paella…
Just a way to remind Pooty that we have big nuke boomers on the prowl.
“Fairly certain Gibralter is still British...”
Well, yes; and, no.
Britain still considers it part of UK, but, because of Brexit, the EU does not. The Spanish want to absorb Gibraltar back into Spain.
It’s...complicated.
