If it is Fl supreme the rats have no chance
“Controversial” to the communists, who publish stories about Democrat gerrymandering like it’s a pie recipe.
Very good!
Let the BLM crazies go do another “protest”
to the victor goes the spoils, The GOP picks up in FL and they lose in NYS.
Democrats say
oh. okay.
It completely negates anything New York did, regardless of the outcome of litigation there.
I do find it hilarious that media finds the Florida map to be “controversial” but the New York map and Maryland maps (both of which were ruled Unconstitutional) were not “controversial.”
Controversial how, exactly? Does it reduce gerrymandering?
If you look at the DeSantis Map it’s actually less gerrymandered than the previous map.
The previous map has at least 1 district in North Florida that guaranteed an African American would win, it had been Corrine Brown until she went to prison for corruption, then Al Lawson took over, until now, the new map follows the Florida Constitution for being compact.
Here’s a link to an article that shows the new map.
Controversial to commies!
Well as one who lives in what was CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT five which was GERRYMANDERED I could not be happier...for those that don’t know this district was designed to pick up the urban core of Jacksonville an then this very thin line out thru the panhandle to Tallahassee to get its urban core...so it was impossible for a Republican to win...before this instead of the line running out to Tallahassee it went a thin line down to Orlando BOTH CASES same result. And so hopefully the courts don’t muck this up...as they often do !and i live in that little thin line area no matter whether it went down to Orlando or Tallahassee. LEX
I remember Corinne Brown’s gerrymandered district, and the new map looks quite good. Do you think it will get rid of the rodeo clown with the cowboy hat?
I live in that district too, hence my extreme interest in the redistricting. I’d have Kat Cammack as my rep under the new map!
She’s in Miami, which I’m not that familiar with.
There are
8 Democratic-leaning seats,
18 Republican-leaning seats
2 highly competitive seats in this proposed map.
Change from old map: +4 Republican-leaning seats, -3 highly competitive seats.
The map in the article you attached is very similar to but not the final DeSantis map (which appears at the very bottom of the original article). I think there are some changes in central Florida, and my new district in north Florida will now be called the third, in line with its neighbors, instead of the 11th. I agree with your article that it’s an excellent map in the regular and compact shapes of the districts. Hopefully that will overcome gerrymandering allegations.
well al lawson was going to get re-elected without the change so i am grateful!thanks
lex
The shapes of the districts look reasonable, unlike some of the completely ridiculous shapes the Democrats had when they were in control, including one that ran for 100 miles along a railroad track but would widen out periodically to include houses of registered Democrats.
Sorry, but we are fighting. You libs can go to HELL!!
