Trump walks out of explosive Piers Morgan interview after being pressed on 2020 election

Former President Donald Trump blasted Piers Morgan as “very dishonest” while walking out of an interview with the TV presenter and Post columnist after being pressed on his claims that he lost the 2020 presidential election due to voter fraud.

The 45th president became increasingly frustrated with Morgan’s questions, at one point calling him a “fool,” according to clips of the sit down.

“I think I’m a very honest man … much more honest than you, actually,” Trump said at one point.

“Really?” Morgan asked.

“Yeah,” Trump responded.

Elsewhere, Morgan told Trump the 2020 vote “was a free and fair election. You lost.”

“Only a fool would think that,” Trump shot back.

“You think I’m a fool?” Morgan retorted.

“I do now, yeah,” Trump responded.

Trump has alleged almost since Election Night of 2020 that moves to expand mail-in voting due to the COVID-19 pandemic concealed election fraud by Democrats and their surrogates in key swing states like Arizona, Georgia and Pennsylvania.

“With respect, you haven’t produced the hard evidence,” Morgan said of Trump’s claims as the former president attempted to interject.

“I don’t think you’re real,” the former president said to Morgan, later turning to the production crew and calling his interviewer “very dishonest.”

The preview clip ended with Trump getting out of his seat and ordering production to “turn the camera off.”

“Very dishonest,” he added while walking away.

Describing the experience in a Thursday column for The Post, Morgan revealed he also told the former president that he blamed Trump’s refusal to admit defeat for the deadly Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot.

“Then you’re a fool! And you haven’t studied,” Trump responded, according to Morgan.

Morgan recounted that Trump called him a fool six more times in the interview, described Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.)

As a man who is banished from every political/social platform there is, he just brought more attention to election fraud than he could have hoped for.

If it is so easy to say, why did Trump himself not say it? That's the point. Frankly, he's just terrible at addressing the 2020 election with specific incidents and - most importantly - specific recommended changes moving forward. It just always comes across as him griping about the result.

It's not a solution for his supporters to put forth that information in detail. He's got to be able to discuss the specifics himself, and he just doesn't.

Oh, I believe it. It was much easier to vote in the 2020 election then in any prior election because of the changes made to election law, allegedly due to covid. It's only logical that significantly more total votes would have been cast in that election than in any prior election.

I'm also sure there was significant cheating. I'm just not sure that the cheating was enough to have flipped the result of the election. There were an awful lot of millennials, racial minorities, etc, who normally wouldn't have voted, but voted because it was made so damn easy.

Who is moving out of Florida? Trump or DeSantis?

Trump probably. DeSantis is governor so he kind of has to stay. This would mean Trump would be the only candidate to run for the presidency three times from three different states.

75 minutes is enough.....

I’d been promised 20 minutes and feared he would cut that down to punish me.

But in the end, I got 75 minutes, by far the longest time I’d ever had with him on camera, and it was a fascinating, often riveting, sometimes hilarious series of exchanges with arguably the world’s most famous person as we talked about everything from Ukraine, Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong Un and nuclear weapons, to the royals, transgender athletes, Twitter and Joe Biden.

Oh please. No he didn’t. Quite frankly, 80% of the populace his sick of talking about it and has moved on.

If he had been able to point by point make his point... maybe. But not being able to provide specifics and calling the guy asking questions a fool multiple times, followed by stomping out only makes him look weak. Yes, that will get the true believers are wound up, but its the truth.

So you have moved on and are fine with either a presidential election being stolen and/or voter fraud in any form as part of the equation?

You’re right of course. And brave to state the obvious. Its all about him. Always. Which is why the Georgia has two Democrat Senators.

I said 80% of the country. Do you ever go out? Talk with friends? Is anyone talking about the 2020 election anymore? No.

That is still cheating and fraud. The fraud is built in. It’s called institutionalized fraud.

“The plan was to destroy the safety and security measures in virtually every state, but particularly the battleground states. What they did in Pennsylvania is a disgrace. They eliminated signature requirements, postal date requirements, extended voting periods. In other words, those safeguards that were in place in Pennsylvania for decades were removed. Now, why would the Democrats want to remove them? To institutionalize corruption and fraud.” - Mark Levin

Yes, and it is fair to say that Trump needs to do better at differentiating between people will sell him out and people will not sell him out, because he has repeatedly put faith in people who have then sold him out.

He can’t fight if he doesn’t win. He won’t win if he won’t get some humility. That’s not the same as groveling.

Trump is not GOD and the sooner people see that the better for him and the country. Any criticism of him is met with the same name-calling bs the left resorts to.

Trump can call out the real bad guys- not people like Morgan who has been in his corner many times. He’s alienating people by not moving beyond 2020. We don’t have to like it- but reality beckons.

I'm (more or less) certain of 2 things about the 2020 election:

2) The lowered standards meant there was - in addition to the greater number of legal votes cast -significantly more fraud than in prior elections.

I am unsure if Biden or Trump got the most legal votes. Way too much fraud is simply undetectable.
