Trump walks out of explosive Piers Morgan interview after being pressed on 2020 election

Former President Donald Trump blasted Piers Morgan as “very dishonest” while walking out of an interview with the TV presenter and Post columnist after being pressed on his claims that he lost the 2020 presidential election due to voter fraud.

The 45th president became increasingly frustrated with Morgan’s questions, at one point calling him a “fool,” according to clips of the sit down.

“I think I’m a very honest man … much more honest than you, actually,” Trump said at one point.

“Really?” Morgan asked.

“Yeah,” Trump responded.

Elsewhere, Morgan told Trump the 2020 vote “was a free and fair election. You lost.”

“Only a fool would think that,” Trump shot back.

“You think I’m a fool?” Morgan retorted.

“I do now, yeah,” Trump responded.

Trump has alleged almost since Election Night of 2020 that moves to expand mail-in voting due to the COVID-19 pandemic concealed election fraud by Democrats and their surrogates in key swing states like Arizona, Georgia and Pennsylvania.

“With respect, you haven’t produced the hard evidence,” Morgan said of Trump’s claims as the former president attempted to interject.

“I don’t think you’re real,” the former president said to Morgan, later turning to the production crew and calling his interviewer “very dishonest.”

The preview clip ended with Trump getting out of his seat and ordering production to “turn the camera off.”

“Very dishonest,” he added while walking away.

Describing the experience in a Thursday column for The Post, Morgan revealed he also told the former president that he blamed Trump’s refusal to admit defeat for the deadly Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot.

“Then you’re a fool! And you haven’t studied,” Trump responded, according to Morgan.

Morgan recounted that Trump called him a fool six more times in the interview, described Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.)

Why are you reading about it vs. if he’d done an interview with Hannity. Trump knows if an interview goes well it will he ignored, if it goes poorly even the MSM will cover it.

"It’s why Desantis needs to be the nominee"

For Vice President with Trump at the head of the ticket.

Then for President in 2028 and 2032.

Trump doesn’t always have the details at his fingertips.

That is going to be a problem for him if he runs again and is asked about the 2020 election. People who followed and studied it will know what he's talking about, but that is not a majority of voters.

Why does he grant interviews with people like this?

Providing fresh video for the Left to use in campaign ads to make him look supposedly “unhinged.”

A simple, “I’m focused on making America great again and helping Republicans take back the House, Senate, and White House” would’ve gone a long way to convince me (and others like me) that Trump is able to see past his own nose and think of the country rather than himself. I guess that’s not the case. Those of you who flame me, I don’t care. When you align yourself with a man instead of your country, I think it’s you that needs help. Not me.

Morgan has done this before.......he has perfected the killer instinct of ‘ambush’

Jesse Watters had better pull himself in as well or he will go down the same path
His ambush of Mel Gibson the other day was repugnant’

DeSantis isn't a big enough fool to accept the 2024 spot behind Trump. For better or for worse, Trump is something of a wrecking ball, and there are very few people who served in his Administration who came out of it with an improved reputation.

DeSantis is the kind of guy who is better off being his own man rather than somebody else's number two. If Trump is the nominee, he's better off passing on the VP slot, stay on as governor, and run in 2028.

well it is pretty easy. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court literally ruling - multiple times - that election laws could be ignored, including mailing dates of ballots and signatures not having to match. Ballot harvesting in multiple states. Millions upon millions of ballots floating around without any chain of custody known / tracked is a simple argument that the election results could be in doubt even without any organized fraud given how close the results were in multiple states. The media knowingly covering up Biden scandals which if it had not been done would have likely changed the results of the election even with the ballot issues. The deck was indeed stacked against him.

Exactly. And Trump knew it as he knows PM from being on the Apprentice (I think he won). Piers Morgan is a clown

Trump has flaws just like Ulysses S. Grant had flaws but dammit, during a war for survival, either one can’t be spared because they fight.

I will vote for Trump if forced to do so, but I would much rather vote for DeSantis. Unfortunately, I do not think Trump will allow Ron to run.

Walking out as soon as he’s pressed? What did he think was going to happen?

Piers Morgan is a good judge of Brit talent shows.

That's his lane. He should stay in it.

"Trump is correct."

Anyone that believes Joe Biden legally received the highest popular vote of any Presidential candidate in the history of this nation, is either profoundly retarded, or lying through their teeth.

Instead he yelled, stamped his feet, took his ball and went home. And of course the fan boys are saying he looks “strong”.
