Russia has lost another colonel as Ukraine continues to inflict punishing losses on Vladimir Putin's top brass.

Mikhail Nagamov, 41, the commander of a sapper regiment, died fighting in Ukraine on April 13, according to articles that have appeared in Russian media.

It is not clear how or where exactly Nagamov died, with reports saying only that he perished 'performing a combat mission in Ukraine'. He leaves behind a wife and child in the village of Suslonger, around 400 miles east of Moscow.

Nagamov's death is just the latest suffered among Russia's command corps, with dozens of colonels and eight generals having been killed by Ukraine.

It’s weird, Russian women are either 1 out of 10, or 10 out of 10...

Apparently pootie-poo considers failure not to be an option. This is smelling like the stalin purges.

If Ukraine wasn't getting getting its ass kicked, do you really think Trump would be calling for a negotiated settlement?

But, we have idiots here that would rather believe and follow the strategy of the Biden regime. Neocons aren't sharpest tools in the shed.

“Must suck for the high ranking officers to find out they are cannon fodder along with the rest of the schmucks.”

Someone posted a few days ago that the Russian Army did not have NCOs.
Since no army can operate without noncoms, I wonder how far down the food chain some of these Russian Colonels really are.

There was one colonel reported to have had his legs run over by an angry tanker early on. He survived and his superiors hoped he would get back on his feet in no time - Russian humor.

Ukraine has no Colonels...or weapons.

And Zelensky is a Russian Jew and only spoke Russian from birth till he was about 20. English was his second language....not Ukrainian.

“And Zelensky is a Russian Jew and only spoke Russian from birth till he was about 20. English was his second language....not Ukrainian.”

Stalin was likely the son of a Georgian Jew (a shoemaker, which was a traditionally Jewish trade in Europe) and Stalin spoke Georgian for the first part of his life. He was not a native Russian speaker nor an ethnic Russian yet Pidor Putin admires him all the same. I imagine you do too.

Being a Russian colonel gives one the life expectancy of a red shirt on Star Trek.

Possibly killed in action while leading his engineers (sappers is another word for combat engineers) building or repairing the pontoon bridges across the Donets at Izyum.

There were a lot of Ukrainian attacks on those bridges. The engineers must be taking casualties.

yeah, our American troops feel a great connection to our high ranking brass that does things like..... give over airport security and perimeter security to the Taliban but suffer none of the casualties or even a reprimand or criticism for their decisions.... or the brass that took targeting from the Afghan security that let us kill 7-8 children and a couple of civilians as a good bye gift for the last great 20 years in their country....

They are a top down organization unlike ours. They don't delegate stuff like we do, down to the fire-team leader and allow independent action that is mission critical.

They are very rigid and it shows by some of the mistakes and some of the casualties. Look at the officer casualty rate on Pelileu or any of the USMC island hopping campaign (especially 2nd Lts. and Capt. at the platoon and company level) we had brass die in combat but that was a different time and the upper command officers are usually not within miles of FAO or point of contact.
