I care about my fellow man and I find this entire war an unnecessary tragedy. A war that was avoidable and where there is no moral high ground for us.
However, I care more about the US because frankly, I’m a nationalist and this is my home, this nations armed services are where my children serve, where my own future rests.
That said, my real concern is what we set in motion with this war, not in Ukraine, but elsewhere, and not even this second, but what will follow in the next few years to come.
We pushed others into sanctions they did not agree with. We flat out threatened them. Either you follow our lead, or else. Pakistan, Egypt, India... None of them are happy with us. But that gets no media coverage. We basically ousted the President of Pakistan because he wasn’t playing ball. You now have an anti-American fire in Pakistan and a military and Intel service that backed us in the past that in a serious pinch, anti-American grumbling in India, pissed off Egyptians...
Our economic warfare and ability to leverage the dollar in a conflict has been noticed around the world and the forces to dethrone the dollar are very real today. Everyone sees what we did and this will also fuel the parallel development of a world bank through BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa).
This conflict will likely push Russia and China closer.

We have enemies in Iran, Iraq (where we still have a presence), Afghanistan (we’re still there - just smaller numbers), North Korea, in Africa... that would love to get their hands on these toys.
There will be consequences that extend far beyond the borders of Ukraine or this wars time.
