I’ve been saying this for weeks: I am baffled by the fact that otherwise rational and intelligent FReepers have become complete morons over this war. Suddenly, they have forgotten how to think, they no longer understand history, they’re okay with a foreign power invading a sovereign nation, they think it’s no big deal that Russians are raping children and murdering civilians, and they honestly believe that “Neo-Nazis” are in charge everywhere in Ukraine even though the president is Jewish.
I think there’s reason to worry. I have never seen so many conservatives so easily swayed to support an evil cause (the Russian invasion) because of propaganda, ignorance and bad thinking and poor analytical skills. This does not bode well for the future of the United States or the conservative movement within it.

Omg, I’m not taking Putin’s side. Fine, send Ukraine the weapons they need. What’s more billions with the way things are going? I don’t to see anymore young, men, wasted. They’re our best resource for home and the future, and thousands and thousands have died in wars too young, to be able to reproduce the last 70 years.

The doctrine also promised that American would not get involved in European affairs as long as they didn’t try to colonize the Western Henisphere. Obviously that’s not the case anymore.
So why does America get to decide who can and can’t come into “our hemisphere,” especially if the country’s sovereignty and safety is possibly encroached upon....and Russia isn’t afforded that same right?
