I’ve been saying this for weeks: I am baffled by the fact that otherwise rational and intelligent FReepers have become complete morons over this war. Suddenly, they have forgotten how to think, they no longer understand history, they’re okay with a foreign power invading a sovereign nation, they think it’s no big deal that Russians are raping children and murdering civilians, and they honestly believe that “Neo-Nazis” are in charge everywhere in Ukraine even though the president is Jewish.
I think there’s reason to worry. I have never seen so many conservatives so easily swayed to support an evil cause (the Russian invasion) because of propaganda, ignorance and bad thinking and poor analytical skills. This does not bode well for the future of the United States or the conservative movement within it.

I think a lot of it is because they are SO vested in the notion that the ENTIRE West is under the control of “Globalists”, “Soros”, etc etc and their hatred is so burning hot for it that they cannot fathom the idea of agreeing with them on the issue of Ukraine. If the choice was Hitler vs “Globalist”, its Hitler. Same for Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, the same.
I cant remember the last time but for maybe a brief period after 9/11 that the left and most of the right agree on the Ukraine issue. Think about that...

Ukraine, a faux democracy was invaded by a dictatorship. So the USA, a failed morally fiscally bankrupt democracy is now supposed to jump all in? I am having a hard time getting jazzed up myself. Let the Euro trash deal with this...
