For every 28 person living with HIV screened for lung cancer, one person was diagnosed with the malignancy in a small single-center study published in PLoS One. Screening did not lead to “overdiagnosis” and excess surgery.
People living with HIV are more likely to smoke, and studies suggest that they have a higher rate of lung cancer compared with the general public. The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommends annual lung cancer screening for people ages 50 to 80 who have at least a 20 pack-year smoking history (the equivalent of one pack of cigarettes a day for 20 years).

Fags first for everything?
Yet you get taken off a transplant list if you haven’t gotten your clot shot.
Are you opposed to selectively screening diabetics for specific conditions that they are more likely to have than the general population? There are many preexisting conditions that call for special or enhanced screening. This is not the hill to die on.
Anal Intrusion Death Sentence is nearly 100% preventable, yet more is spent on research than cancer
Another glorious benefit of Obamacare, Homos to the head of the line.

My answer would be NO. The AIDs infected should be handled dead last, after cats and dogs.
I’m a smoker. When I die of lung cancer (and I will, barring some Darwin-award winning accident or in a fight to the death against some bad guy), I will have no one to blame but myself.
I don’t belong at the front of any line after abusing my body for years. Give my spot to some poor kid who might have cancer, or a young Mom, or a hardworking man.
Shouldn’t people with HIV simply be quarantine to protect the rest of the population? OK, I know this is almost 40 years overdue.
The argument wasn’t against screening. It was about prioritizing some illnesses over others. For instance, a stable AIDS patient could theoretically cut the line in front of a stage IV lung cancer patient for screening.
THAT is the problem.
HIV is an elective disease.
People with HIV should be quarantined for life.../S
I keep posting this info, but HIV causes its infected to age 14 years. Because of this aging, they are more likely to get dementia, cancers, kidney disease, plus more diseases. PrEP doesn’t stop the aging. To see articles, search hivaging.
I don’t know why the article doesn’t explicitly state that HIV ages its infected, ergo more likely to get cancers.
Instead, there's an anti-quarantine "right" given to the infected that guarantees their freedom to expose others to the virus, no questions asked.
