group of Republican House members are calling on the Department of Justice to keep them updated on the investigation into Hunter Biden, saying that the first son’s foreign business dealings are raising questions about his father’s administration, according to a report out Wednesday.
In a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland, Rep. Bob Good (R-Va.) and 14 other lawmakers argued that the first son’s interests in Ukraine and China involved potential violations of civil or criminal law by President Biden and members of his administration, according to Fox News.
Delaware US Attorney David Weiss is looking into whether Hunter Biden committed tax fraud by failing to fully account for the money he was paid to sit on the board of Ukrainian energy company Burisma — a gig that netted him as much as $50,000 a month.
The letter noted that “little detail” of Weiss’ investigation into the president’s son has been made public and said it was “imperative that the Department of Justice brief Congress on the nature of Mr. Weiss’s investigation into Hunter Biden.”
“Congress has a constitutional obligation to conduct oversight of the Executive Branch and a moral obligation to examine if the President of the United States or any senior official in his administration is ethically compromised or injured,” it says.

Did they write a “stern” letter?
Want in one hand and 💩 in the other, see which fills up first
The Republicans need to know how close their family rackets are to the flame.
What laptop? We don’t know nuffin!
This is called “playing the game”.
When Democrats refuse, and then when Republicans are in the majority, it is more fuel for the fire.
Are they going to hold their breath until they turn blue? Perhaps an Al Sharpton style “hunger strike”
Is Romney or Collins on this, yet?
It’s only been 2 years?
“ When Democrats refuse, and then when Republicans are in the majority, it is more fuel for the fire.”
You clearly haven’t been paying attention to what republicans actually do when they get a majority over the last 30 years
.

There are somewhere like 250 Republicans in Congress.

Well mistakes were made but no jury would ever convict of criminal charges and Joe knew nothing.
Justice Department: “Uh, we don’t release any information on the actions of the President’s family, except if their related to Orange Man Trump.”
Hunter does have a probe! I’ve seen it.
I agree that the DOJ owes Congress an thorough update.
Grand jury evidence is subject to secrecy. If the DOJ releases any of that information to Congress then Hunter, if indicted, might claim that the government violated the law. If a Court finds the violation was substantial it might dismiss the charges. If, as I suspect, any grand jury evidence provided to Congress by DOJ will find its way to “friendly” media outlets, then Hunter, if indicted, could claim that the potential jury pool has been contaminated and he cannot receive a fair trial anywhere in the USA. So, it would be better if these Republicans allowed the process to move forward. If, at some later point, it becomes clear that Hunter will get a free pass, then this becomes an issue to pursue.
Democrats will bring up Jared and the Saudis to muddy the waters.
History may, most often, be on your side. But I believe that a change is coming.
