A California congregation with a sizable LGBT membership that belongs to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America has called for the removal of the denomination’s first trans-identified bishop.
The Rev. Megan Rohrer, who uses “they/them” pronouns, was installed as the first trans-identified bishop in ELCA history last September, becoming the leader of the California-based ELCA Sierra Pacific Synod.
However, since then, Rohrer has weathered controversy over allegations of racist behavior toward a Hispanic Lutheran pastor, as well as other issues that have led some to call for Rohrer’s removal.
The Congregation Council of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, a Fresno-based ELCA congregation that reports having about 50% LGBT membership, passed a resolution on March 22 calling for the removal of both Rohrer and the Synod Council.
Approved by a unanimous vote, the resolution petitioned the ELCA Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton, the Conference of Bishops, and other leaders to begin the process of removing Rohrer and the Synod Council from power.

My church is in the ELCA...we as a congregation basically ignore the Synod. We do not agree with their positions on a lot of things and do not participate in anything they do. We are very small and they leave us alone. The Bishop has been to our church twice I think in the 36 years we have been members. I am ashamed of what the ELCA has turned in to, they will answer to God someday, as will I. I do know that a LGBTQI+ “Pastor” will never preach in our building.

Keep believing that nonsense. The ECLA is Second only to the Anglican Church in its total submission to Wokeism, Liberian and total rejection of Biblical beliefs. They glorify perversion, attack conservatism and traditional Smerican values, and have no issue with abortion.

They pretty much already split twice in the past quarter century: The 1995 formation of Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC) in reaction against the ultimately failed “Concordat” with The Episcopal Church and the 2010 formation of the North American Lutheran Church (NALC) following the 2009 ELCA decisions to Ordain practicing homosexuals and recognize gay “marriage”.
Sorry, but to my ears, this sounds like someone saying that he belonged to a local chapter of the Nazi Party, but that he and his fellow chapter-members were actually opposed to most of the things that Hitler and Goebbels said and that Goering had paid them a visit only once.
WTF?
How can you, in good conscience, belong to an organization that promotes that kind of thing? You are - directly and/or indirectly - providing material and moral support to these freaks.
Sorry if I sound "high handed," but I can't wrap my brain around that!
