Oil companies refuse to participate in gas price hearing, angering Democrats.....
Washington Examiner ^ | 3/29/2022 | Breanne Deppisch

The CEOs of three major oil companies have refused to testify in a hearing aimed at stabilizing U.S. gas prices..drawing the ire of Democrats...House Natural Resources Committee Chairman Raul Grijalva of Arizona took aim at the chief executives of.... EOG Resources, Devon Energy Corporation, and Occidental Petroleum.... for declining to appear at the committee's hearing, which had been scheduled for April 5.

Due to their refusal to appear, the Democrat said, the hearing “will not go forward.”

House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Frank Pallone also ordered a similar hearing, scheduled for April, and has ordered testimony from representatives of major oil companies including BP, Chevron, Exxon Mobil, Pioneer Natural Resources, and Royal Dutch Shell, among others. It is unclear whether those companies plan to participate.

The hearings are part of Democrats’ broader effort to distance themselves as much as possible from the spike in prices ahead of the midterm elections, where they are fighting to retain their narrow majorities in the House and Senate.

My friends do you think the oil companies are out for anything but themselves? Even if the government got out of their way they’d leave it in the ground for a higher profit margin. Doesn’t matter if there’s money to be made on any given day.

Perhaps the answer is a subsidy to the small independents. Still they’ll need access to federal land that is off limits. The solution is to give the land to the (red) states.

When can we “take aim” [the article writer’s words] at Raul Grijalva?

He’s been really awful for many years.

Good move. The oil company execs would have been blamed by for high gas prices and called profiteers. F Joe is not convincing anyone that gas prices are due to Putin and Covid. Draining the strategic reserve is a transparently political move. The internal Dem polls on f Joe handling of inflation must be disastrous.

Looking to lambaste publically as they have done in the past while buying their stocks and looking for envelopes under the table

Chairman Frank Pallone

Frank Pallone is my Congress Critter and is one big Jerk Off & he knows it because I called him it Face To Face.

When that Asshole comes to my town for political stuff, the Chief of Police, whom I grew up with, stands between him and I.

Not to protect him, but to stop me from doing something that I would get arrested for. LOL

Dear Chairman Raul Grijalva,

Thank you for extending to us the courtesy of appearing before you, on television, for the purpose of being called everything from fascists to profiteers.
We have at this point decided not to acquiesce to you invitation.
Means NO.

You know what...

I wouldn’t be participating either, especially after accusations leveled by the President against the entire industry already.

There in rests the difference between Biden and Trump. Trump would have been able to lead these executives, negotiated volume, and removed red-tape to keep our nation safe. This is a National Security problem that needs immediate resolution.

Instead you have Biden standing there yesterday on the White House stage accusing oil companies of greed and all manner of “sin.”

I wouldn’t be wasting my time at a ‘congressional’ hearing! It is kangaroo court without a jury.

One last thought, Trump would not have held a ‘hearing.’ He would have been ABLE to meet with these CEO’s directly. Then Trump would have briefed congress on what needs to be done and how to make it happen.

Both paths perfectly Presidentially legal, one path far more effective in protecting our National Security.

I doubt the polls really matter, until you can prove to me that voter fraud won’t steal 2022 just like 2020, 2018, (almost) 2016, and many other election cycles.

Think the Democrats aren’t working up the guts to nationalize the oil industry?

Why those corporate thieves have no right to raise the cost of oil the way they
have! /s

Wait for it… wait for it…
