Members of Ukraine’s Parliament visited the U.S. Capitol to advocate for more aid to be sent to the Eastern European nation. The all female delegation spoke to reporters on Wednesday at the Ukrainian Embassy, where they laid out a list of what they need in terms of military equipment. Their list includes proper air defense systems and fighter jets.

They went on to justify their list by saying that it’s the only way for the conflict in their country to end while referencing the city of Mariupol, which has been besieged by the Russian military.

It will be slow walked at best. Old Javeins and Stingers, the Taliban have better equipment. No MiGs from Poland, no advanced ADA or armor.

Gotta make sure those bribes paid off!

I think we should have nothing to do with Ukraine because of Biden corruption. We’re too compromised to be in any position to do anything.

But heck, WWIII? It’s all good if you’re a Biden.

They’ve got a lot of oil in Ukraine. We want oil in return for weapons or cash.

——-
Not true, lots of NG and coal, in the Russian Donbass provinces …..which in 2015 the Ukies started shelling inabling the Eastern provinces to get the oil companies in to drill.
Vlad will do as he said, secured the eastern provinces freedom from Ukraine- and then sell the EU the badly needed NG. Of course, that must be accomplished without Zelensky starting WW3.
Checkmate.

What everybody knows is:

There is nothing in Putin’s history
or now to indicate a benevolent dictator for them.

This is Putin’s attempt to retake the area when nations left during the closure of the Soviet Block Russia in 1991.
Putin wants the mines! The mineral wealth of the area remains the same strategic prize that Adolf Hitler recognized during WWII.

1-Particularly Donbas, leads Europe in proven recoverable reserves of uranium ores, ranking seventh in the world overall. It ranks second in titanium ore reserves in Europe, second worldwide in explored reserves of manganese ores, and second in Europe in terms of mercury ore reserves.
[Natural uranium and low-enriched uranium can be used as fuel for power generation nuclear reactors, research reactors, military plutonium production, and naval propulsion reactors. Highly enriched uranium can power naval propulsion, military plutonium and tritium production reactors, and act as feedstock for nuclear weapons production.]

2-Titanium alloys are some of the most common metals used in military applications for everything from aircraft parts to missile housings, armor plating, naval ship and spacecraft construction. Many more civil applications contribute to demand as well.

3-Manganese ores are vital to steel production, corrosion-resistant aluminum and copper alloys, battery cathodes, and nutritional supplements. Mercury ores are valuable in applications including munition fuzes, missile and space guidance system gyroscopes, infrared detection and lighting.

4- Ukraine is a major producer of neon gas critical for lasers used in chipmaking and supplies more than 90% of U.S. semiconductor-grade neon, according to estimates from research firm Techcet.

PUTIN ASSUMING FULL CONTROL OF THESE ASSETS is an obvious shortcut to exploit Ukraine infrastructure in the Donets Coal Basin won’t be the work of a moment for Russia. But assuming full control of these assets is an obvious start.

PLUS, He wants to keep Crimea.

Transparency International ranks Russia as one of the world’s most corrupt countries, putting it 130th of 176, with a particular problem in its defense sector.

Ukraine was already in a bad way economically because of Putin’s puppet. The Maidan revolution [2014 protests] that ousted pro-Russian leader created the fall and impeachment of the regime of President Viktor Yanukovych that caused him to ran away to Moscow in the middle of the night.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson denounced Russia’s recognition of separatist republics as “a flagrant violation of the sovereignty and integrity of the Ukraine”. The two self-proclaimed rebel republics of Donetsk and Luhansk, whose independence Putin decided to “recognize” are situated in the rust belt in eastern Ukraine and escaped Kyiv’s control in 2014.

Ukraine State Service of Geology and Mineral Resources announced that shale gas reserves in the country totalled 247 Tcf. If this were the case, Ukraine alone would have just over half of the total shale gas reserves among all European nations that were not formerly part of the Soviet bloc. In May 2012, Ukraine picked Shell and Chevron Corp. to explore and develop two potential onshore shale gas fields in Western and Eastern Ukraine. In Western Ukraine, Chevron will initially invest $350 million annually with a total investment of around $10 billion. A 50 year production sharing agreement was signed in November 2013. The Olesska (or Oleskaya) shale reserves, located in western Ukraine, are estimated to be roughly 53 Tcf according to the Ukraine government and could produce up to 350 Bcf annually. The field is located along strike with Poland's Lublin Basin where Chevron already has shale licences.

Spot- on! "Interestingly, in June 2013, Ukraine's Prime Minister Mykola Azarov claimed that Ukraine would be natural gas self-sufficient within 10 years and that it would be able to export some gas as well by the mid-2020s. With Ukraine currently getting over two-thirds of its natural gas from Russia and being Russia's second largest natural gas customer, one has to wonder how much of a role recent oil industry activity in Ukraine and Crimea, in particular, have played in Russia's current political moves in the area. With major international oil companies about to break Russia's near monopoly on natural gas in Ukraine, would one have to think that Russia and Gazprom would feel somewhat threatened. When one looks at how many deals Ukraine has signed with multinational oil companies in the past two years, the timing of Russia's return to the Ukraine seems more than coincidental."
