BRICS Countries Will Be at Heart of New World Order, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Says
Sputnik News ^ | 3/30/21 | Sofia Chegadoeva

Since the West has declared a hybrid war against Russia, Moscow has to search for opportunities in other regions, the diplomat said.

The BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) will be at the heart of a new world order, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said. "In all respects ... these countries will become the basis of a new world order," the deputy foreign minister told RT when asked whether the BRICS countries would take a more important role in the world.

Russia is working to establish contacts with any country that is interested in cooperation, he said.

"There is no news here about our stable and long-standing policy of establishing a comprehensive static partnership with China, this is just another step," he said, commenting on the recent meeting of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi.

Commenting on President Putin's decision to switch to ruble payments for gas contracts with 'unfriendly' countries, Ryabkov said that Russia is not changing the terms of the contracts but is protecting its interests.

The fact that countries in the West quit contracts with Russia in several spheres "just within a night" is shameful, Ryabkov said.

Russia has always been a reliable supplier and intends to continue gas deliveries to Europe; however, the interests of Moscow should be taken into consideration as well, he added. The diplomat hopes that European countries will revise their decision not to pay for gas in rubles and will find a creative approach to the issue.

Yep, we could have gone with Russia, but chose to go it alone, debt and all.

Oh well, it was fun ride!

BRICS combined with One Belt and Road is not to be discounted. Just the fact these countries are ignoring our sanctions speaks volumes and there is nothing we can do about this. Even the Middle East is laughing at us. What a clown show

RC is the only part of BRICS that is likely to compete with the top 7 democrat nations. India will likely be asked to enter the G7. Their only issue is that they are still too friendly with Russia. But they are a democracy. And they are a growing economy that is already larger than some in the G7 now.

South Africa is not even really in the BRICS anymore. They are not going to be any better than Uganda or the Congo in a few years. And in many ways they are worse.

Brazil is just a minor league player. They are not politically stable. And they are not economically stable. So, outside of selling off the rain forest, they are not world players. G20 will be their home for decades if not centuries.

That combined with the Russians controlling some of the Eastern European nations through energy.

https://www.reuters.com/business/energy/putin-says-russia-will-start-selling-gas-unfriendly-countries-roubles-2022-03-23/

Russia making unfriendly nations pay for gas in Rubles.

https://www.kitco.com/news/2022-03-28/Russia-sets-fixed-gold-price-as-it-restarts-official-bullion-purchases.html

Russia adopting a gold standard, essentially.

Yes- they are kicking us back.

We are much bigger and can inflict more pain. But there are repercussions and we will feel it. The Russians are undermining the US dollar. They are biting back.

https://www.reuters.com/markets/europe/china-russia-trade-has-surged-countries-grow-closer-2022-03-01/

And a lot of that is “outside” the dollar. Already 5 years ago China and Russian agreed to use gold.

It will be interesting to see how all this ends. We, the pawns will end up paying for it all. I hope it was worth it.

Grab cryptos while they’re cheap, friends. ETH, SOL, AVAX, ATOM, BTC, in that order.

Throw in OPEC as well as China calling in its chits through B&R, and you have serous global control of essential commodities. Down goes the petrodollar and the western hegemony over the world financial system. Europe thinks they are facing hard times now without Russian gas; just wait.

I don’t believe this statement is true. At least its not if you accept the world bank or UN numbers.

The US is bigger than China

Germany, Japan and The UK are all individually bigger than India.

Italy is bigger than Russia.

Canada is bigger than both South Africa and Brazil together.

So if I know mathematical properties of logic; if all the parts of A are smaller than all the parts of B then A is smaller than B.

There is no question that BRICS have more population and resources. So there is more potential in the BRICS if they could figure out their political and legal issues. But I do not expect that they will produce a business climate that will foster the potential economy and make it a reality.

Apply PPP. Nominal GDP is increasingly useless in conditions of the crash of globalism.

If you think that a hamburger in NY is the same as a hamburger in China or India then I guess you are right. I am not sure that GDP or PPP are perfect. And as I said, both Russia and China have huge advantages if they can make use of them. But I don’t think that will happen. If they make the same political transition as Singapore, South Korea or Taiwan did, then yes, they will be massive. But their society and governments hold them back.

Build something in China and it will be garbage within a couple of years. Just try building something in Russia of value and try to keep it. You can’t. Wealth is not safe in a BRICS country. And gradually businesses are figuring that out. A Hamburger in NY is worth far more than a Hamburger in China. Its safe to eat in NY. Its made of beef. And you won’t spend the next few days on the toilet. And that is why its worth more.

“ Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa”

Of all these countries you’d think India would be like “woah, we just buy oil from Russia. We aren’t that good of friends”

Not true anymore. Have you been to Russia? If you work on a menial job in the third-tier Russian city you can afford to rent a decent place, a loan on a new car, unlimited mobile plan and a 65 inch TV+ cable, two overseas vacations and to save on top of this. And that out of $600 monthly income.

Lived in Brazil from 2012-2014. Second largest economy in the Western Hemisphere, but they can never be a global player with the clown world politics that makes ours look like a Platonic Republic.
