Headline: "DeSantis signs controversial bill restricting certain LGBTQ topics in Classroom." (CNN)Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Monday signed legislation banning certain instruction about sexual orientation and gender identity in the classroom, approving the controversial measure that opponents have dubbed the "Don't Say Gay" law.
HB 1557, titled the "Parental Rights in Education" bill, was given final passage by Florida's GOP-controlled legislature earlier this month. The law is set to take effect in July. The legislation set off a social and political firestorm in Florida when it was introduced by Republican lawmakers in January. Its passage comes as conservatives around the country are pushing a host of bills that would further marginalize members of the LGBTQ community. DeSantis, a staunch conservative with a history of supporting anti-LGBTQ causes, previously approved legislation targeting LGBTQ Floridians, including an anti-trans sports ban last year.

What sort of demented creeps would get angry over bill language like that?
Why an anti-grooming bill is the hill liberals are willing to die on is beyond me.
CNN lied? The Hell you say.
Virtue Soapboxing is a 24 hour job at CNN.
CNN! Your LGBTQ Headquarters. LOL.
What is controversial about “No grooming or recruiting in the classroom until the kid at least hits fourth grade?”
It’s a sad commentary that we even have to pass this kind of law.
Restricting the grooming of children.
No quarter for predators
Marginalize? Turn on your TV. Every third ad features queers in one way or another, as do many sitcom shows and a lot of cop show dramas. For a 1.5-3% demographic you'd think they were a dominant planetary life form.
Legislation MUST be enacted to restrict homosexual discussion in every grade through high school!
We all KNOW that homosexuals are made, not born. The ONLY way the homosexual “community” can grow is through “grooming” of children by adult homosexuals!
Said “grooming” of kids under the age of 18 is child abuse!
And should result in a felony prison sentence!
Just read the entire bill. No way those who are calling it the “Don’t Say Gay” bill have actually read it. I think the issue really is the fact schools are no longer able to hide anything from the parents. No longer able to handout health and well-being questionnaires without the parents knowing about it, no longer able to teach things nine year old’s don’t need to know about sexuality or gender identity (BTW, the words “Gay” and “Homosexual” aren’t even in the bill), no way to hide files or notes on the child and there is a timetable now for concerns to be resolved. Parents can now sue if the concerns aren’t remedied within 30 days.
Those are the real issues. The schools can’t hide anything anymore.
It is common sense. Sickens me that we need a law to protect our kids and their parents from teachers and school administrators.
And God bless him for doing so.
Does it specify anything that can’t be said? I didn’t think so.
Nothing controversial about it!
What’s controversial is pedophiles seeking access to children
in the name of education and the advancement of Constitutional
rights that do not exist.
Nowhere does that document give sick deviated people the right
to confront innocent children with twisted adult sexual topics.
And if someone wants to argue against my terms “sick” and
“twisted” and “deviated”, I’d like to remind them what they
want to discuss with these kids, and the ages of the kids.
That confirms my point.
The Dems are complete suckers to criticize this bill. Who wants to teach kindergartners about trans people?
” Controversial “ ?
Only to Fake News hacks, whose only aim is to destroy Western culture.
Except the bill says nothing about LGBT or whatever.
Bill merely bans corrupting children in kindergarten with sex talk. I can't imagine any normal parent objecting to this bill.
Why even post fake news from CNN anyways?
They never tell the truth about anything.
LGBTQ and child sex abuse headquarters.
