The mayor of Irpin, near Kyiv, said on Monday Ukrainian forces had seized back full control of the town which has been one of the main hotspots of fighting with Russian troops near the capital.
"We have good news today - Irpin has been liberated," Mayor Oleksandr Markushyn said in a video post on Telegram. "We understand that there will be more attacks on our town and we will defend it courageously."

Clean up on aisle one.
Who claimed it was under Russian control? What about Kherson? Ukraine said for three days about heavy highting and the city about to get back “today” each time. Nobody heard a shot in the city while they were “heavily fighting”.
Is it a new strategy or what? All propaganda, all the time?
Verification
Russia’s offensive operations remained halted on all fronts but Donbas, and with no appreciable gains on the latter axis, including in Mariupol.
Ukrainian forces have approached the outskirts of Kherson.
Ukrainian units regained control of Trostianets.
The information could not immediately be verified by Reuters.
how's the weather in St. Petersburg? Are you still getting paid in roubles?
Putin Stooges most badly affected.
The Ukrainian advances over the last few days are encouraging, but they are mostly a result of Russia learning form its mistakes.
Russia realized it was an error to divide its forces across six fronts.
New strategy is to keep enough forces to threaten Kiev, Kherson, and Kharkiv and pin down Ukrainian forces, but shift everything else to the east.
That strategy has yet to produce any results in the east, but it is a much more sensible one.

Cronos to NorseViking
Check your Kremlin bulletins, kherson outskirts have been liberated from Putin’s army”
That’s your propaganda from yesterday.
Are you ashamed at how phony you are?
You launched dozens of hoaxes here, all debunked, and still everybody doubting your lies is allegedly a Putinbot.
How stupid is it?
Kherson:
The statement about Ukes capturing it came from Arestovich (neonazi, blogger and propagandist for the regime). He later said that the statement was based on what some local guy told him, and he should not be faulted since this would have been great news.
Irpin was never claimed by the Russians.
Yep, a sort of strategy unchanged since day one.
Major F-up considering Putin had at least 8 years to plan his invasion.
The initial plan was nuts. It created a front as long as the whole eastern front in WWII.
Kherson was claimed by Cronos here.
He gets paid in Yuan now.
I have a feeling that Cronos got his information from some Kiev source, who got the information from Arestovich, who got it from some local guy in Kherson area, who did just wanted to feel better...like they all... so please, do not blame them.
Wanting to feel better is in human nature.
What you note as Russian strategy can also be viewed as the forced result and perhaps defensive retreat to a new front line.

“Every few minutes, an ambulance or an unmarked white van arrives at a dusty courtyard on the western outskirts of Kyiv and an elderly, frail person is helped – or sometimes stretchered – from the back.
These are some of the last residents of Irpin, a commuter town a few miles from Kyiv. They are those who were too old, too frail or too sick to leave earlier. ...”
Further down in the article it says the town has been blown to smithereens. No infrastructure hardly, bridges blown to bits, no water, gas, or electricity. No medicine.
And all civilians are gone.
Ah, you use Rachel Maddow tactics, accusing people of Russian ties as she did to Trump.
That makes you a libtard.
No doubt brought on by unacceptable high casualties.
