Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-N.C.) claimed in an interview posted Thursday that fellow lawmakers have invited him to an orgy and done cocaine in front of him.

The remarks from Cawthorn, 26, who in his 14 months as a congressman has developed a reputation for unpredictable statements, came in the context of a discussion about whether, in "Warrior Poet Society" podcast host John Lovell's words, "House of Cards" was a “fictitious show” or if it was “closer to like a documentary.”

Yes, I read the quotes. Yes, he could have been far more resilient and at least adopted a "wait and see" approach to the election's integrity. But he's a 25 year-old kid who just stepped on to the national spotlight in January of '21. His party leadership is telling him what to say and he's probably getting a lot of advice to accept an unpleasant reality. He logically could conclude that this battle is unwinnable and he should keep powder dry for the next one. You can disagree with any of this, and that's fine.

But Deep State? No, that's ridiculous.

My understanding of live in DC (I know people who were involved a decade or so ago) there was a lot of interaction after hours. People tend to interact based on “other interests.”

I guess if your “extra curricular” interests include group sex...you could run into a mixed bag.

I have a colleague who are into that lifestyle. When I hear the stories, it just blows my mind. Definitely not my thing. But, to meet her...you would never know.
