BRUSSELS/LONDON, March 25 (Reuters) - The United States will work to supply 15 billion cubic metres of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the European Union this year to help it wean off Russian energy supplies, the transatlantic partners said on Friday.

The EU is aiming to cut its dependency on Russian gas by two-thirds this year and end all Russian fossil fuel imports by 2027 due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Russia supplies around 40% of Europe's gas needs.

Fifteen BCM is 10% of the gas the EU imports from Russia.

Where will they get the remaining 90%?

Natural gas prices in the US will become far, far more expensive. Hell, more expensive worldwide.

It will probably double.

But it's worth it when preening over punishing Russia for invading Ukraine, right?

But it is ten times more expensive, so they’d pay as much as for all the Russian gas.

Biden promised higher energy prices, food shortages, forced jabs, and potentially WW3.

None of those were promised during his campaign, but after his installation.

It will take years to build the infrastructure and extract enough LNG to help Europe thanks to green global warming wankers.

Russia (evil) is the existential threat to Europe and the world - not the non-stop climate crap.

China and India both are big importers of Energy materials.
That is combined population almost 1/3rd of world. And both have fast growing economies. Russian energy will be sold there.

Biden does not have any gas to give away. It is all privately owned. I do not think he can force them to sell it.

Someone posted the following video clip in another thread. It's worth posting again.

When the EU cuts off Russian gas, does Ukraine expect those lines in from Russia to be filled?

It is not gas that is an immediate problem.. they have supplies for months.

(Yes, the way things are going, EU is in big trouble, but only in the next heating season.)

Watch diesel.

Right, they are maxed out right now. If they had listened to Trump five years ago, they would be in fine shape right now. But no, the einsteins knew better than to take him seriously.

Do the US and Europe have the facilities to transport and receive this amount of LNG? I know that Trump wanting to do this and more, such as improve pipelines, refining and ports. I bet there isn’t a penny in the woke infrastructure bill for this. I do know one thing, Pennsylvania is sitting on something like 14 trillion cubic meters of natural gas.
