“Los Angeles police are warning people that wearing expensive jewelry in public could make them a target for thieves,” reports the far-left Associated Press, adding, “– a note of caution as robberies are up citywide.”
“Robberies are up citywide”? To say the least… Compared to 2021, robberies in Los Angeles are up 18 percent, while robberies with firearms are up a whopping 44 percent.

I’m heading back to work once a week in San Francisco in April, after two years completely working from home, and I do not plan to bring along my Louis Vuitton purse—that’s for sure.
Wish me luck! I work in a very bad area: Civic Center near the Tenderloin and right next to the needle exchange/druggie area.
I’ve worked there for 27 years so nothing new but it’s getting worse, not better. Sad. I never knew SF when it was allegedly beautiful in the past. Now it’s an armpit.

Ban 10 round magazines, gas cars mowers, weedeaters and expensive jewelry. DON’T ban criminals who steal, murder and injure though.

lol this is what they tell visitors who go to third world countries. Congrats Los Angeles!

Stop blaming the victim. Rather than tell people to cower and accept robberies, like telling a woman to cover up or it’s her fault for raped, why not find solutions? More police, armed citizens, arresting and jailing criminals, executing the worst offenders?

The the number of rapes increases, the government will just say, “Stop dressing like a slut”. And the feminists will nod and say, “Good advice.”

Keep voting Dem Californians, you haven’t hit rock bottom yet. We are well past the point of people merely just casting their ballots and choosing their leaders
California leads the nation various tweaks, wrinkles and schemes for voting rules to ensure voting happens as the ruling party requires. Vlad Putin subjects himself to elections too, you know. California is no different.

You, obviously know the city much better than I. But I visited in the late 60s and early 70s. Always quirky, but then really a nice place worth seeing. Good food, great sights, pleasant, if cool weather, it was something. Now lost forever likely.
If you’re a reader, you might like Richard Dana’s ‘Two Years Before the Mast’ that describes California and San Francisco in the 1830s. At the end of the book he describes S.F. fifty years later.
