Yikes! It’s a bit early for those high temps you have in store.

Our cold fronts aren’t arctic blasts but we’ll have highs in the 50s with lows in the low 40s the next couple of days. Today was low 60s. Saturday night will be around freezing. Then we start warming up again.

A few farmers have done a little field prep, like the fella across the road who spread poop a few weeks ago. The ground’s still cold enough it isn’t close to planting time yet.

Good evening, radu...did you get lots of storm chaser action last night?

A friend in the Florida panhandle texted about 3am that they were in the middle of an alert area. Said this morning, no damage at home, but damage at work...the Air Force base.

Good evening, Mark....hmmmm, interesting question. I hope they’ve put some thought into that scenario.

Hey there, Kathy.

Not a lot of storm chaser action last night but there was a lot the night before. Last night, I just kept a close eye on NOAA for tornado warnings as the storms moved towards FL. You and I both have friends down there around Ft. Walton.

Glad your friend came through ok and I hope there wasn’t too much damage at Eglin. My friend lives just west of the storm track so he came through just fine. A sigh of relief for both of us.

Did it snow again or is the weather behaving now? It was so strange to see how thick the snow was over the city and not a flake falling at the airport. LOL

I’m thinking that with the pollen falling like yellow rain, you don’t need farmer prep right now. LOL!

The kitties were a bit happier today. It wasn’t as chilly nor as windy as yesterday. Still didn’t see much of them, though.

Pollen, dust from field prep - - it comes with the territory. Can’t say it’s fun but it’s not enough to make me ever want to move. On the rough days, just stay inside and keep the windows closed.
I will say it’s sucked the last two years with cotton surrounding us and I still hope for corn or soybeans this year. LOL

Maybe you didn’t see your kitties today because they were out wandering. >^..^<

I’m sure they did some wandering, but no matter when I go out back, Grey isn’t so far that she doesn’t come to be petted.

I still have my fingers crossed for no cotton there for you. That is soooome nasty stuff. Even though I love cotton clothing.

Thanks for the info. Now, for those who don’t go to the USAF academy, I wonder if USAF ROTC and OTS, will also commission officers for Space Force? As a USAF retiree, I had a good chance to get my son an appointment to the USAF Academy. He didn’t want to do that, so he ended up going to OTS at Maxwell. Within a week, he entered pilot training.
Now, the next question would be. Where do they get their enlisted people from? USAF basic training at Lackland, I would suspect. I wonder if Space Force will get any people from other branches, besides USAF?

It sounds like Grey isn’t much of a wanderer but the others are. Smart Grey. Keeps her from getting in trouble.

With things the way they are right now, growing corn or soybeans for livestock feed is more important than growing cotton. We have a feed mill here in town and a lot of cattle and chicken farmers in the area.
Food’s more important than clothing.

Cotton feels good enough but I own no cotton clothing other than cotton blends. It wrinkles and I hate to iron. :-)

Grey is a tiny thing, and I expect she realizes she would not have the edge in many fights. She spends lots of hours in her carrier/cave. I can open the back door and her little face appears at the entrance of it. I need a picture of that. :)

I do understand that cotton is the last thing on people’s minds when there is livestock not getting what it needs to survive.. I hope that’s what the farmers plant.

Some cats just aren’t much for wandering. When we allowed some of ours to stay outside, a lot of them stayed close by while others went off to the woods or wherever. Grey seems to prefer being a homebody. She wants to be there when you poke your head out so she can get some lovin’. :-)

It used to be all corn and soybeans in the fields around here but I guess word got out that there’s money to be made with cotton - - gubmint subsidies. They got that taste of money and don’t want to give it up. *spit*
