Saturday Night Live Became Part of the Stasi to Protect Hunter Biden
The Stream ^ | March 23, 2022 | Mark Judge

Posted on 03/23/2022 8:04:47 AM PDT by Heartlander

Hunter Biden’s lost laptop has been verified by the New York Times. Seventeen months earlier the New York Post had broken the story, reporting that the president’s son, a cocaine addict who impregnated a stripper, was involved in a lot of shady business dealings with foreign governments. Tucker Carlson verified it, with eyewitness testimony from a former Biden business partner.

The Mainstream Media, the tech companies, and the intelligence community, our very own version of the German Stasi, buried the story.

Social media covered it in “false information” warnings, and outright bans on The Post and other truthtellers. A bipartisan cabal of Deep State operatives covered the laptop’s revelations with lies — with the claim that this was “Russian disinformation.” That was every bit as made-up as the Russia collusion hoax, which our FBI invented in genuine collusion with the Hillary Clinton campaign. And legacy media like the Times simply refused to cover the laptop at all.

As John Zmirak has written here at The Stream, our intelligence agencies seem to have taken the historic East German Stasi as a direct inspiration.

Where Are the Satirists Now?

It is very serious business.

Still, I can’t help but think: Where are the jokes?

I mean, the crackhead son of the demented President of the United States misplaces a computer. It turns out to be full of pornography and insider dealing and videotaped drug binges. But Saturday Night Live is nowhere to be found.

In America and most of the West in 2022, jokes are increasingly forbidden. Many of our comedians, like many our artists, have sold themselves to our American version of the Stasi, the feared German secret police that terrorized the country from 1945 to the fall of...

The jokes stopped long ago. These guys are WAY past the point where joking is going to do anything. In fact, making jokes at this stage of the game will probably work against you.

The reality that underlies all good humorous commentary can only be covered up, but an accidental excavation sometime in the future, and the whole web of lies used to conceal that reality is swept away like the handiwork of a multitude of spiders. There is no final draft of history, only agreed-to fictions. But if the fictions themselves do not provide even partial logic to arrive at their conclusions, then it is all magical thinking.

The Ministry of Propaganda is pervasive.

It’s not just the news channels, it’s every outlet of entertainment.

"Big Brother Says, “That’s Not Funny”

"One if the most spiritually crushing things that can happen to a culture is the suppression of its sense of humor. As Milan Kundera explored in his great novel The Joke, totalitarian societies consider humor a serious threat. Jokes can cut through propaganda and reveal the truth. The loss of American humor is a terrible sign of decay. Joking societies are healthy societies.

"Sadly, many of our comedians have sold out..."

Here's a 'joke' from the unlamented Soviet Union:

Prol#1: "How are things going today, comrade?"

Prol#2: "Average, comrade, just average."

Prol#1: "What do you mean by 'average', comrade?"

Prol#2: "You know, average - worse than yesterday, and better than tomorrow."

That's actually more the sad, undeniable truth than a joke, in an authoritarian culture. Unfortunately, it's likely 'coming soon to a neighborhood near you', courtesy of the establishment elite and their 'woke' culture...

With very few exceptions, snl stopped being funny in the early eighties. From the 2000s on it has been nearly universally stupid.

“the president’s son, a cocaine addict who impregnated a stripper”

Yes, anytime you think your family is screwed up, remember, somewhere out there is a toddler whose mother is a stripper, father is a crackhead, and grandfather is the (illegitimate) President of the United States.

And a grandmother who abuses the elderly.

They stopped making fun of Democrats when Obama was elected. But the change in direction probably started even earlier, when they fired Norm MacDonald.

Very glad to see this piece from Mark Judge. From everything I’ve heard, Mark is a very good guy and a cancer survivor whose name and reputation were dragged through the mud by Christine Blasey Ford and the Democratic party in a quixotic attempt to destroy Kavanaugh.

Lorne Michaels was taking cheap-shots at GOP presidents, while covering for Democrats long before Jeff Zuckerberg’s mother entered grade school. Should we expect anything else?

I’m an independent thinker and I don’t think in terms of who not to be critical of. I’m also a critical thinker but I am more critical of myself than anyone else, except for the liars, cheaters and thieves who accuse others of the same things they seem to feel entitled to.

A lot of folks don’t want to admit that this has been going on for more than a few years.

I understand how they feel (being in denial, that is) because I used to try to take movies/TV/entertainment seriously. For example, my best friend in grade school was way into Woody Allen. I never thought he was that cool or funny but I laughed anyway and went to his movies with her and blah-de-blah. So I could be friends and do something sort of fun, right? I would never have dared to speak against Woody Allen or any other favorite pet of the Left’s entertainment industry. (There were a lot of people and things like movies I felt that way about; I’m just using Woody Allen as an example.)

Realizing it was all a bunch of leftist BS that had left an indelible, disabling effect upon me was a nasty shock. I thought for instance of the several musicians and entertainers I used to get way into, who up until about 2016 or so I thought were cool until they started attacking Donald Trump.

It makes you feel stupid and gullible and also like you’ve been used. These entertainers don’t like me, I started thinking. They think it’s a joke that I like them.

My expectations of the entertainment industry at this point are about as close to zero as they could possibly be. I certainly DON’T expect to be entertained. (Note: I stopped watching saturday night live a long time ago. First it was “Who’s home on Saturday night? LOL!” and then it was “Dang, this show really sucks now.” One would find oneself sitting through 45 minutes of crap to watch 5 minutes of something that you could laugh at.)
