“So it may not be logistics that are stalling the Russians. It could be a continual command shuffle due to losses among senior commanders? What about their staffs? Did they just up and quit?”
Good questions, all.
That goes all the way back to Reagan's "Star Wars" missile defense. We get side tracked by phrases like "Star Wars" and never get to the conversations or even a vision of what missile defense should be. It needs to be implemented at both strategic and tactical levels. Strategically, missile defense protects our homeland. At the tactical level missile defense needs to be integrated as part of offensive operations. Think of a highly mobile dome over rapidly advancing US forces, whether on ground, air, sea or space. Those capabilities need to be part of an overall doctrine of total warfare. Specifically that includes economic, information, cyber, and kinetic warfare. That's more integration and complexity.
By the way, I am not some war monger; far from it. I am that guy saying we need to be careful about getting into wars and in the 21st century that requires recognizing wars don't only get started by shooting (kinetic). The US is currently waging economic, information and cyber warfare against Russia. Hopefully that does not lead to a shooting war because it will all be over something that has zero national interest to us.
The mighty Russian military is just playing cat-n-mouse, is just about to quickly finish encircling and wiping out the opposition in a matter of a few hours...they are an indomitable force...you just wait and see!

That bears repeating (with emphasis ;>)...
“Strange all these military bas-asses around here can’t tell the difference between shelling a city and occupying it. We pretty much laid waste to Dresden on 14-15 Feb, but didn’t occupy it until April.”
The February, 1945 firebombing of Dresden was overkill. Germany was in full retreat in February, 1945 and some very prominent German military leaders knew the war was lost and had started pressing the government to seek terms, at great risk to themselves as such thoughts were considered treasonous by Hitler.
Childish.
These idiots don’t know that in Stalingrad the city was reduced to rubble and the Russian soldiers were eating rats when they could find them but they still defeated the Germans.
Then again you are debating with people who when you take the position which Donald Trump supports, they post on here that you must be getting paid by Soros.
This is the same Intel coming from the same people who said Russia would not attack Ukraine.
Yes FR is a wasteland now of pasty white, 60ish, pudgy semi-retired armchair Generals who think Russia is winning and any news to the contrary means the rest of us are influenced by our climate change endorsing Reptilian overlords. No sound military analysis, just someone’s opinion and wishcasting. As of this AM, the Russians have 17.5k KIA, x2 or 3x wounded soon probably soon to die. I could list the reason they are losing, but why bother, the aforementioned John Birch Society armchair heroes would say I’m a Ukrainian tranny and I should stop sniffing glue.
Clearly Baghdad Bob edits the daily mail
Tell me, when you met Zelenskyy and Mr Zelenskyy, did the oil roll off him like a mechanic at an Esso station?
This is the same Intel coming from the same people who said Russia would not attack Ukraine.
The most pitiful part of this is the people currently being harmed the most are average American and Russian citizens that want no part of this. (Obviously, Ukrainians want none of this.) Putin and all those so-called evil Russian oligarchs are laughing all the way to the bank as the price of oil and other commodities sky rocket. You can bet many in Congress are also getting rich off this. That phrase, 'let no crisis go to waste' needs to be change 'let every crisis be profitable'.
There is one other part of nuclear war strategy where the mass media maintains total silence.
Civil defense.
Russia has up to date civil defense to protect civilians in the event of nuclear war.
Our “leaders” view is that the deplorable masses are not worth saving.
While many folks here are in deep denial, that greatly undermines the deterrent effect—and tempts Russia to “go for it”.
lol...if it were only so simple. In three days no matter what the media can say the Russians are now starving, even if theyre fine. Others will pile on and with no one to really “disprove” it.... the Russians will ‘starve’ until the narrative can be bent gently further down the road to save their sad reputation.
“These idiots don’t know that in Stalingrad the city was reduced to rubble and the Russian soldiers were eating rats when they could find them but they still defeated the Germans.”
Yeah, they just don’t seem to realize that people will fight like tigers — even against all odds — to defend their homes.
Or in my case complete resignation to the fact that I would meet my maker - hopefully quickly. I came to that realization as a young man during the cold war. My coworkers and I would often eat lunch at picnic table on the hill outside our office. It overlooked the cooling towers of Three Mile Island in the distance. Just up river from TMI was Olmsted airbase. (Both targets of the Soviets) I had a reoccurring dream that I would be there at lunch with my friends. They sky was crystal blue, but then it was filled with missile contrails. In the dream, I turned to my friend and calmly said, "Well, nice knowing you" and I went back to eating my sandwich until a bright flash would awaken me.
Just because Putin and the KGB have money doesn't mean the West has to serve them.
They are acting like spoiled, petulant children running around with weapons, expecting to get their way.
