For many years now, there has been a spirited debate about whether climate change is science, religion, or even perhaps a secret route to socialism. That question remains unanswered, but we've now discovered with certainty that climate change is a political albatross around the neck of the Democratic Party.
The Left's spiritual devotion to climate change has been speeding the Democrats over a political cliff with likely unprecedented losses this November. The zero fossil fuels suicide pact was always an economic and political loser. More than 70% of all the energy we produce and consume in America derives from oil, gas, and coal. President Joe Biden's war on these fuel sources was sure to cause severe shortages and $5 a gallon gasoline at the pump.
Democrats should have learned from the green energy catastrophe of Western Europe. A decade ago, the French, Germans, Italians, and others in the European Union moved to a renewable energy future. They slashed much of their oil, gas, and coal production, shut down nuclear plants (why?) and subsidized the building of wind turbines and solar panels. It nearly bankrupted Germany as energy prices soared and factories left Europe for America and Asia. A decade later, France is back to building nuclear plants, and Germany is burning more coal than ever before and importing natural gas from Russia. Europe recently redefined natural gas and nuclear power as "clean energy."
Going green wrecked their economies and submerged these countries deeper into the red. Unfortunately, Americans weren't paying any attention to that failed experiment. So now Biden is repeating it. The result is likely to be the same. The Democrats' radical climate change agenda isn't greening the planet and it is bankrupting our country. Voters know exactly whom to blame.

Wouldn’t it be awesome if we had a real opposition party? You know, a party motivated to have an impact and help America and Americans. A party like that would not only do investigations, but would actually impeach/dismiss/jail the evil doers in the Dem party. The GOP will get the power to do that, and then will reach across the aisle.
Climate change isn’t an article of faith.
It’s a weapon.
And Deep State has beaten the republic to death with it.

Exactly, and while they demand that we peons do without fossil fuels, they, the elites, Wil. Have their own private stockpliles of fossil fuels so that they can co tinge enjoying the good life of ease and comfort while,us peons suffer miserably.

Yeah, the title of his book caught my eye for that exact same reason, too. The economy doesn’t mean much when we are all lumpenproletariat slaves to Fedzilla. And that is exactly what has happened.

That’s the headline. Mr. Moore explains why fossil fuels will be needed for a long time but he doesn’t refute the human-caused climate change belief.
I don’t know whether there’s measurable human-caused climate change but don’t worry about it because good effects, which are not talked about, might outweigh bad effects.

Because \true\ GreenEnergy (tm) literally harvests energy (fuel) from the environment and has no intermediate source of energy.
It uses no Gaia resources and doesn’t harm the Erf.
That is why it is called “sustainable” and Nuclear is not (despite a half-life of 4.4 billion years for U238) sustainable.

In a nutshell, the practice involves using the power of government to force people to buy sh!t they don't need, don't want, and would have no interest in buying in a free market. You could look at almost any issue that dominates the conversation in Washington to see examples of this nonsense at work:
Much of the criminal code
Military campaigns that have nothing to do with national defense
"Education" spending
ObamaCare
COVID "vaccines"
the "Green New Deal"
Etc., etc.
I think it's cute how they believe the left is a bunch of bumbling fools who don't understand economics. They understand it perfectly. They understand it better than most people. This is a deliberate and systematic effort to weaken the United States at home and abroad.

There’s no debate that the climate changes and always has. There have been times in the Earth’s history when it was warmer and colder and when the CO2 levels were greater and less than they are today. The apocalyptic believers are just convinced that the use of energy that adds CO2 to the atmosphere is an existential crisis.
I disagree that this is a significant problem in any reasonable time frame but I’m willing to live with their religion as long as they participate in a true engineering solution.
The history of life is the exploitation of energy, first as food, and eventually through the control of fire.
Real engineers have solutions that can produce 100% of the energy the planet needs for a thousand years without generating any CO2. It’s called thorium molten salt breeder reactors. The leading company in this space is ThorCon Power based in Stevenson WA but my second favorite small startup is Copenhagen Atomics in Denmark.
ThorCon is building MSR isles based on ship building techniques and the original Oak Ridge National Lab MSR design demonstrated in 1969. The excess electric power from these reactors can be used to extract uranium, biodiesel, jet fuel and other industrial products from coal, generate hydrogen and ammonia for fuel and fertilizers, desalinate sea water, sequester any of the CO2 produced by essential carbon based products that have no alternatives, and burn all the existing nuclear site waste products for energy. And at a price that is less than coal with virtually no new waste.
Adopting Thorium MSR power in developing and developed countries would increase the world’s GDP by 1000x. All we need is the will and commitment to get over our fear of fire and build out this proven safe energy source from the abundant source that powers the Earth’s core.
Covering the landscape with solar panels and windmills is completely useless without a corresponding supply of battery storage systems.
Even if you ignore the TRILLIONS of dollars required to meet this need, America has no access to the quantity of rare earth elements necessary to produce those batteries.
Where are these rabid environmentalists when it come to the impact of mining these rare earth elements, or covering the landscape with solar panels and windmills?
Sounds as though you have bought in to the fallacy that CO2 is a pollutant rather than plant food. Otherwise, a first class analysis.
You forgot to mention the Thorium in coal provides 27 times the energy that burning the same coal would release.
