FNC’s Carlson: Everyone Is ‘Lying’ — Ukraine Is Not a Democracy

Monday, Fox News host Tucker Carlson disputed the claim that democracy would be “preserved” if Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky could withstand the Russian invasion and remain in power.

Carlson argued that Ukraine was not a democracy. However, he said some Americans were using the claim that Ukrainian democracy was what was at stake as a possible justification for the United States to enter the dispute.

“There are a lot of documents about Hunter Biden’s personal life that we haven’t brought to you and we are not going to and we will tell you why,” he said, noting the obvious reason that Hunter is not running for president. “But Hunter Biden is a fallen man at this point,” Carlson stated, adding that he once knew the younger Biden well. “I never thought Hunter Biden was a bad person,” he concluded. “I thought he had demons but in the time I knew him he kept them mostly under control. At some point, he lost control of those demons and the world knows that now. He's now humiliated and alone. Probably too strong to say we feel sorry for Hunter Biden, but the point is pounding on a man, jumping on, and piling on when he's already down is something we don't want to be involved in.”

He’s a lunatic and their form of government has nothing to do with the American response to the invasion.

Once again, President Trump clearly has recognized our national security interests in this war.

Tucker going on about whether they are a democracy or not (they certainly have a degree of liberty and political freedom beyond Russia) is a stab in the back of a whole people who are being slaughtered.

Think Vladimir will be holding any votes after that are conquered?

One amusing thing is that the “pro-Russia” Ukrainian army of 2014 was FAR more corrupt than the current Ukrainian army. Putin thought he was going to fight the Yanukovych 2014 Ukrainian army and defeat them in 48 hours. Ooops.

I’ve said this a dozen times. Nothing in Ukraine is worth a single drop of American blood or a single nickel of American treasure. If Ukraine wants American weapons they can pay cash on the barrel head and arrange delivery themselves.

Beyond that we should stay the hell out of it. Both sides are hyper corrupt oligarchies.

That being said hearing Russia losing men and materiel does warm my commie hating heart.

Tucker is exaggerating and doesn't know what he's talking about. Zelensky outlawed the parties tied to Moscow. There are still dozens of active political parties in Ukraine.

Much of the corruption in Ukraine comes from two countries the United States and Russia. Ukrainians are not just caught in the middle of incompetent Cold War politics, they are caught between competing corruption of two dominant superpowers.

Now they have 150,000 Russian soldiers trying to take over their country. There is this tendency in the American conservative political commentary to acknowledge, then completely disregard that Ukraine was invaded. There is no way for Zelensky to deal with what he is facing and be a saint saint about it.

For Tucker to be denouncing the state of the Ukrainian government as the people are being wholesale murdered by a far worse dictatorship-

Putin has been clear about NATO on his border for 15 years, but of course we are told he is Hitler.

Zelensky was corrupt before during and after he cozied up with Hunter and Joe Biden and just declared martial law, consolidated all media under his control, and wiped out all political opposition, yet we are supposed to lift him up as some kind of hero.

It’s amazing that so many conservatives fell into lockstep with the narrative presented by Democrats, Soros, and the mainstream media without hesitation. I guess the covid mask-arade conditioned people to comply without questioning.

Putin bad, Zelensky good, take the jab and shut up and wear your mask.

Ukraine isn’t invading their neighbors and murdering them by the thousands. Russia has done that for literally hundreds of years and will continue unless stopped. Ultimately, wanton destruction and mass murder is bad for business and we’ll all pay for Russia’s war.

If Ukraine is not a democracy or corrupt, it still does not give Putin the right to invade and take over. How many nations around the world are corrupt and not democracies? Do those facts alone give another country the right to invade them and take over?

And furthermore, has that idiot Tucker Carlson noticed that Russia is corrupt to the core and not a democracy? What happens to Russians who dare to oppose Putin? They tend to end up dead, poisoned or in prison.

Mark my words, Tucker Carlson will attempt to stop Donald Trump. He’s that crazy and misguided and Trump does not agree with him, something Tucker can’t stand from anyone.

Evaluating Ukrianian “Democracy” while they are in the middle of a struggle for survival is disingenuous.
Zelensky’s faults, as he has many, are not sufficient pretext for a Russian invasion.

Bringing it all up at this point does not help to clarify things, but to muddy the water.
Putin’s invasion which has led to the death of tens of thousands is the issue at hand. One doesn’t have to love Zelensky to say this is wrong and needs to end, and that the man responsible for causing it should be dealt with.
